Not a fucking thing about this sounds like a good idea.

Who needs fucking clocks anyway, right? It's not like it's something actually important.

:skep:

BTW kids, this will fuck up ANYTHING with a synchronous motor.

Seriously. Bad. Fucking. Idea.

And I will bet that any "savings" they realize would NOT be passed on to the consumer...

As far as reliability? How about sinking some of that effort into an aging transmission infrastructure?

Interesting that I haven't heard anything about this.
I might have to ask the operators about it.

Absolutely Brilliant idea!!

Think of this, the economy is stalling, people are losing jobs because factories and business are closing down. But here is the stealth solution...mess with the frequency waves of the power grid!

Just think of all the A/C units, fridges, furnaces and other electrical appliances that burn out when hit with repeated brown outs and spikes!!

Think of it like cash for clunkers! The "man" can force people to replace older units that are not energy efficient by simply burning them out...and then crying Ooopps!! Millions of units that have to be replaced in the next couple of years!! Jobs...profits...TAXES!!!

I think it is brilliance!

 Sounds like a non-issue for me. Even at the worst of 20 minutes error per year, I'm guaranteed to have to reset all the plug-in clocks at least one a year due to power outage, and twice more for DST. I doubt anyone would ever see that big an error.
