Are things running slow for anyone else. Seems it takes a while for some pages to open and when I make a new post/reply. Noticed it at home and figured maybe it was my laptop, but am at work now and am seeing the same thing.

C+ for effort.
Needs to be more seamless so people wonder "When the eff did we start talking about THIS?" without there being a really clear line.

We need a server to ourselves or at least a VPS. We get too much traffic for the cheap webhosting. Database has gotten big.

We need to follow the wise tutelage of Jake Blues. We need to sell the women and children.

How much for the women?
I've disabled a lot of stuff we don't use. I reduced the header to one image, I have blocked robots from crawling the site.
We will see if this makes a difference over the next few days.
Seems to be responding a little snappier and the guests have been reduced significantly.

Yeah, but then again, they wouldn't be needed, as everyone would just vanish just as fast as they did with Cycle Forums.
Fastest way to clear a site of users...
Any better response or are you guys experiencing the same lag? Mine experience has been a little bit snappier. It's still slow sometimes, but not nearly as bad.

Seems better here, did you delete derf
Think that constant running process of random headers and other little stuff I had running was eating a lot of database processes. It's not really the server that's the issue, it's how they limit database usage that our host is screwing us on. That why you see a lot of database errors instead of 404 pages.

It was running fine for me the other day, actually.
I have had some slow downs today, I am investigating with help from the server company. We don't show anymore traffic than last year, yet it's substantially slower.

I've also been having problems with vfrdiscussion.com For the past couple weeks it usually wont even load at night. Maybe I'm passing on some internet herpes.

Seems to be off and on for me - some pages load snappy, other times clicking on a thread the site will spin and take a minute or two to get a response.

Earlier this morning, it was slow like before. Right now, it's acceptable ( minor lags )
Do you have an account set up for donations to help with site costs? If everyone ( or at least most ) would throw in a few bucks, it could help you out.
The few dollars given to help out is worth it in entertainment :lol

edit-----
WTF happened? I replied to RangerScott's plumbing thread and it took 78 seconds for my reply to post. After two minutes, I opened another window to post here because the previous tab I was working in is stuck somewhere on the website.

I opened up task manager, clicked on performance tab, then clicked resource monitor button. Once that was up, I clicked on network tab and just watched AVAST just keep sending and receiving like if I was downloading something. Um.......uninstalled.

OK, performance has been back to normal for me.
What happened? Not that I'm complaining, but something clearly happened.

Don't know, I asked the server people to investigate any potential malicious activity, maybe they found something.
