I have my eye on a nice rotary red one, like the one on Commissioner Gordon's desk.
That's for downstairs ;)

That's badass! Though I'll admit, I half expected a picture of a vagina phone where you answered the clitoris.
Sheesh - I gotta stop posting otherwise I'm going to lose my lurker status.

Well, it sorta goes with the soda machine.

I love industrial/commercial shit, but it weighs a fucking ton.
You have to remember, all of this shit is a SAFE first, and a vending device second (so it's all armored, and heavy as all hell).

How about the deli slicer?

Yes, I have a soft spot for the industrial. I hate consumer shit, it breaks.
...Sammich?
Phones pretty cool. you defeat the coin op?

Awesome fridge, dude! The cat I bought the phone from already put a standard solenoid in it. It works just like a regular phone now. The soda machine (Dixie Narco 180) has to take coins (I have it set to 5 cents, and keep a bowl of change next to it).
BTW, the slicer? It's not automatic...it's manual.

yeah i remember it wasn't defeated from the soda machine thread. forgot it was nickels though.
I actually had to turn the thing down, Initially it was set at about 75% of the temp knob's travel. Turned my beer into slushies :lol

I wanna get a real commercial flat-top griddle next.
Breakfast. Serious business.
...but my ultimate dream gizmo, is a real Manitowoc ice machine. I just have to wait for city water...I'm not gonna make ice with the shit I got now (well water) unless I get a real reverse osmosis system. I want clear ice, with no funk. NOTHING is better on a hot day than that clear ice in your drink.

I almost bought a Pentax 645 back in the day.
I ended up with a EOS RT, which had a pellicle mirror, that fired literally instantly (RT is for "Real Time") for great for pics at the track.
Committed to Canon optics, I now have an EOS Digital Rebel...

I have the Rebel T2i myself. My only complaint: no internal interval timer (for time lapse photography). I did find an external for $17 on Amazon, though.
Nice, I like collecting old engineering shit myself. Slide rules and old electrical test equipment like ammeters and shit.

Gotta get yourself one of these. Cast iron, no teflon non-stick bullshit here. And check out the cord behind it. It's more like a rope. Some serious wattage here. The on/off switch has one of those soft nylon protectors too.

I actually have one of these (Cuisinart Griddler):
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51B5iRceJ5L.jpg
I don't do the Panini thing that often, and the stainless steel/cast aluminum base construction on the thing is pretty solid. I haven't killed it in about 4 years, and it gets a lot of use (mostly doing bacon) as it's really versatile.
If it dies, you damn well know I'm getting that thing.
I also really do want a commercial toaster too (maybe a conveyor one). I don't know if you've noticed, but they just flat make better tasting toast than the consumer shit. I don't know...may be the higher heat, but the toast comes out tasting better...

I hate you. Our beer fridge in the garage which is just over a year old (and outside of the 1 year warranty) just started spilling oil out of the compressor.
This has been a shitty fucking week and this was the final kick in my ribs while on the ground holding my balls after getting nailed in them earlier this week.

No - debit card. I honestly don't even know if my CC provider offers any extended warranty protection, etc. Should probably look into that one of these days.

Damn; wonder if any debit cards offer extended warranty coverage? Almost any MasterCard or AmEx CC offer it... sometimes you really have to dig for it, but it has always been worth it.

Mine does because it's tied to MC.

Stop using your debit card and start using a credit card... Debit cards offer less protection and banks are a real pain in the ass when some Nigerian wipes out your checking account... Sorta like the story I read this morning where a woman somehow generated $3 million in overdrafts and the bank froze ALL of her accounts. Shit wouldn't happen with a CC... scammer hits the limit and it's done... then you get a call from the CC company, "WTF, was this you?"... "no, my last purchase was xxxx"... "ok, we'll send you a new card in a few days."

I feel kinda sorry for stores who have to pay the 2-3% fee to Visa/MC, but most of them refuse to accept checks anymore because they're too lazy to go to the bank, so what else are you going to do?
Particle Man

That's a BS excuse. There are tele-check services that will run checks through and make it like a debit transaction at POS (the check gets written, swiped, and returned as a "Paid/Canceled" check to the purchaser right at the POS). Going to the bank to deposit a check is no longer a necessity.

I do, too. An old lady at a rural gas station lectured me about how I was going to be paying for my soda and beef jerky for years and how the interest would cost me 3x than paying cash.

Don't remind me! I grew up quite poor and thought credit cards were like free money when I finally started qualifying for them (it's how they were treated where I grew up). Holy moly was that a tough, expensive life lesson. I cringe when I think of the cc debt I used to carry and all the money I threw away on interest.
I figure if I get ~$1000 cash back each year from my cc, we'll be even by the time I'm dead.

Yeah I once had about $25K racked up on them. Kept transferring the balance to new cards to take advantage of some temporary 2.9% deal or some bs like that. Finally I stuck a piece of paper on my refrig, with the current balance. It was like a motivator to see it get lower and lower.

I use my CCs pretty often but not all the time. Pay the balance each month. I try to use them for all online purchases. My wife's debit card somehow got into the hands of a UK theif a year or so ago who ordered ~$2K in LED grow lights. BOA credited us the money within 2 days, IIRC. Was a bit of a PITA.
