View Full Version : What's everybody idea of a romantic night out?

You can post a serious response or you can post a jocular response (which most of us do anyway).
For me it depends on the chicks. The younger chicks tend to prefer having a fancy meal then go clubbing. Apparently their ideas of romance is getting buzzed and do the bump & grind on the dance floor and then making out like mad in the car (not that I'm against any of these activities). But now and then I got me a chick (younger or older) who prefers a true romantic night out the way I like it: dinner, walking down the beach, dancing to Sinatra songs under the moonlight, sipping on champagne. I guess I'm a softie at heart.

awww, i like your ideas better...
for me, it would be something nice, a pleasant dinner, then perhaps an activity that both enjoy (miniature golf,a peaceful nature walk, paintball)...or if a tad less energetic, sitting under the stars, perhaps a nice bottle of wine, and chatting the night away...
and i firmly believe too much too soon kills it...

Go to a nice dinner, down several beers, go to a Lamb of God concert, hit the mosh pit, and then get freaky in the sack when we got home... And yes I'm being serious.
If the girl rode, forget the beer and the concert, just go for a long ass ride with a chatterbox system so we could still talk. Dinner and sack plans all the same.

I'm not much of a romantic, but do like to just sit somewhere really peaceful and talk for hours occasionally. Normally its more of, go to a party or club or something that both of us enjoy and just have fun.

We have done this twice so far:
Watch the sunset from the open deck of Kimo's in Maui, Hawaii while enjoying a fabulous dinner.
Our first trip was in May of 2004 and we went back this past April. We sat at the same table.
Sure there are other romantic evenings, but I think that tops the list for us.

Short ride under the moonlight to some non-chain bar and grill (preferably seas side or at least lakeside), good meal, some wine, walk on the beach, back on the bike for a ride to someplace candle lit for the night, then the next morning after a long luxurious shower, take her to breakfast...

I like doing activities. Sitting in a resturant or bar gets to mundane for me. i loose interest and get finiky. I've never been able to sit down for too long.
I've gone golfing, horse betting, fishing, canoeing, wine and dine on a boat, horse riding... I've done rose petals, candles, soft music, etc.
But the dates i remember most are the ones where the circumstances wouldnt even matter, i just had fun being around them.

All great ideas, but they don't always work. I like taking a girl to dinner, maybe a movie if she's up to it, one that she has been wanting to see. Other ideas, just a night out, if you have a nice college for performing arts around, go to a musical, a play or whatever they have going on. If its late at night, a nice walk on the beach will do, maybe go to dinner and if your base happens to be night flying, sit in the bed of the truck and watch the planes take off and land....don't forget the bug spray though.
Too much too soon does kill it, but that's why you gotta change it up and keep them on their toes. Miniature golf, go-karts, movie, plays, walks, hell even camping is romantic depending on the woman that you are taking.
Tonight is going to be one of those special nights, haven't really had time with the gf lately, so I'm gonna try and make tonight a special night. Just hope she enjoys it!

Having the bf make time for me. Where he cooks supper, sets the table with candles and soft music. Then while we are eating, asks me to dance and then I get wrapped up in his arms and he holds me tight while we sway. Then after we eat, we curl up on the couch and watch a total chick flick....... Well, maybe watch it. The most romantic thing for me is when my bf looks at me like he's undressing me with his eyes and that he can't get enough of me.......
However since Cutty is a non-romantic. I got nothing......... :idk:
my idea of romantic is her greeting me at the door in something jawesome and cooking me dinner and pie/daleeshus caek and then having her way with me all night while I don't lift a finger.
her idea of romantic isn't the same or even close to it

For me, it would be slammin a hooker in an alleyway and then the two of us go beat up a bum. Tugs at the heart strings thinking about it. *sigh*
Seriously, I have to know the girl before I do anything romantic with her. And my idea of romance with a girl is doing something that she REALLY loves to do but hasn't done in a long time. For instance a girl that LOVES to camp but hasn't in a few years. I go buy a tent and under the stars we go.

My idea of a romantic evening is having dinner under a tree. Watching the sunset go down and just simply be embraced by the one you are with. At the end of the evening, he should walk me to my door and give me a simple kiss.... Enough to keep me wanting more...
Some guys just dont know how to not be over bearing, over the top and wear out their welcome all too soon by wanting too much!

My idea of a romantic evening is more or less a nice ride on the bike, or something random like that, or a night at the movies followed by cuddling on the beach. its always something different and spontaneous that my bf LOVES doing.
We LOVE going out and spending our day shopping(I know, stereotypical gay guy) or we'll just hike through wherever if its not terribly hot.

If you're going to do it, do it right.
Go out sailing, anchor out, a nice dinner, cooked by me on the boat (fresh lobster and fish is usually my first choice, and it's always stuff I've caught/shot) a few glasses of wine, watch the sunset, a quick swim in the moonlight, then a little while sailing under the stars. There are some definite advantages to being a boat captain in the Keys!
Although probably the best romantic evening I've had in a long time was a couple days ago. I rented a nice beachfront room on Sanibel, we went out on the beach in the afternoon, I could tell there was a storm coming in (another advantage to being a captain), so we went back up to the room and as soon as we walked in the door it started pouring. Well, the room had a nice private balcony overlooking the now deserted beach, spent some quality time on the balcony with the storm in the background, then hopped in the shower, went to a really nice dinner on the water, watched the sunset, went back to the hotel, walked on the beach and then back to the balcony for a few glasses of wine, and to really top it all off, I woke her up very gently right before the sunrise the next morning and watched the sunrise from the bed through the sliding glass door.
:idk: I like to think I'm pretty good at this kind of thing!

my husband's favorite line is "money doesn't grow on trees". so his idea of romance is eating dinner out of a paper wrapper in front of the TV. we rarely go out to dinner, but we get take out many times during the week. doesn't make sense to me. i don't care if it is only mcdonald's, let me put on my nicest pair of athletic shorts and lets drive there and dine in. i'm really not that hard to please. i dunno, maybe he just doesn't wanna be seen in public with me?
it'd be ideal to me if my hubby would just dust his bike off for once and we would ride together somewhere for dinner, or just ride period. our local state park has FREE concerts at the bandshell every weekend. just take a blanket and enjoy the night together for free. doesn't get cheaper than that. hell, i'd just like to get flowers once without having to specifically ask for them first. maybe i just need a boyfriend (or girlfriend)? :idk:

Start with dinner... a decent place, not a chain or a dive, but not really upscale either... Quiet.
Go for a drive to a nice secluded place... just to enjoy the person's company...
End the night with making out with some fondling and enthusiastic dry humping.
The wife and I usually go to dinner and a movie and there's a spot out here that kinda overlooks the entire city. It's still close to the city, but there's not as much glare in the sky from all the lights so you can actually see the stars. Don't like clubbing much, you can't what the fuck anyone is saying.

It's all about spending that time with each other enjoying something you both have in common. I'm beginning to forget what that is like, haven't had that in a while. Not her fault or anything, just lots of stress on both sides from work and life in general.

romantic dates aren't played out. You just can't expect them or they aren't really romantic anymore. Romantic dates are pretty much the dates that a woman feels she is the center of the man's attention, or that the reason he's doing this is for her.

Now the hotel thing, I could see that being romantic...If you were into multiple men at the same time, that might be romantic...but somehow i don't think rae would swing for that! :panic:

I am looking for an old 250 right now, I am contemplating selling the fiddy for it. I don't think I will be using the fiddy as much as I did and I want to get rid of it before I blow the engine.

What's everybody idea of a romantic night out?
For me, its all about the company.
Does not matter to me were we go, as long as it feels good.
Mind over matter for me.
