So....I got the 2011 Camaro 1SS recently and one of my co-workers has been spazzing about it as he had a GTO but sold it when his kids arrived and he's been driving a low horsepower shit box since then.....

Last Friday we went to lunch in the Camaro and he said "I test drove a Mustang GT last night...but....I can't pull the trigger....more than I want to spend right now...my wife is all for it but I'm just too cheap."

I pull into work today and sitting in the parking space I normally take out in BFE I find this....

He said his wife went and bought it when he took his kids to a movie on Saturday. :lmao:

I'd be kinda of annoyed if my wife surprised me with a brand new car.
I would be very annoyed.

If it's an automatic, you should murder him with a chain saw, sell his children into slavery, and use his wife as a sex slave.

Agreed.

Luckily, all ends well in the land of men and cars.

Remember: A man may have but two feet, but a proper car requires at least 3 pedals.

It's on par with faggotry of the new/old design pig of a Camaro. Hell, it did the faggy new/old design before the Camaro. However, you don't get to own Bumblebee... Michael Bay would be disappointed in you.

I hear next gen dumps the retro garbage and is gonna be a much smaller lighter car...

Eye of the beholder and all that...but....the "retro" aspect is the best part of the car (aside from the 6.2L V8). I can't think of a better looking car than the original '69 Camaro SS.

True, 60's were the best.........
70's Camaros were bulbous & lame IMO........
80's were nice for the time, especially the IROC........
90's were just "ehh", kinda looked like fish

Yeah, the 69 is a bad ass car. I would love a Nickey or Yenko version of the 67/68/69 car. Not the piece of trash new version. It is not even close to the badassness of the original. It's like a crappy chinese copy of it.

I wouldn't use a new Camaro as a daily driver either. I put too much miles on my vehicles and park in a very large gravel lot. I have to have something cheap to take to work because the idiot contractors around here drift and spin their wheels in the gravel and chip my shit to hell.

Couldn't wait to finish restoring the other ones, wanted one to drive now.

51,500 original miles. 350/350 L46 4 speed. Original everything.

My personalizations will be minor, and completely reversible.

I've put a 14" leather wrapped stock-look replacement steering wheel on it, to remove the boat-like qualities while looking almost stock, and it's getting some white letter T/As in 255/60/15 rear, 235/60/15 front on the original wheels for just a hint of stagger. The 215/70 Redlines just don't do it for me. Look too "old man".

I slipped a T cushion on top the parking brake (typical C3 comfort item), and I'm done.

I have achieved my childhood dream car...but let's face it; she's the prom queen. You also wanna date her crazy sister, right? Let's be honest.

So, as for the other '69 'Vettes still in the driveway...see, I have the small block one with the flares...and that was gonna get the tunnel ram, but then there's this low compression late model 4 bolt main big block 454 truck motor I now have in the garage, hanging on my crane...that came with the other one...and suddenly I'm thinking that a 6-71 GMC, and some aluminum heads would be awesome on that 454 bottom end...

Now THAT would make one crazy sister.

Looks like it's getting a water pump too.

The weep hole? It's weeping. Thankfully, it's about the easiest car on Earth to do a WP in.

I know what I'm doing this weekend.

I'll probably send the original out to be rebuilt, to keep with the car.

With shipping and tax, $37.56 to my door.

I love old Chevys. Should take all of an hour to do...carefully.

Can't wait to drive her again. She had apparently been stored awhile, and the carb was flat-spotting just a bit at first, but I've put about a tankful through it... with a little SeaFoam, and some Marvel Mystery Oil...and she was running nearly perfect by this afternoon.

Avatard

I've put about a full tank through it. The new wheel makes the driving experience SO much better. Really tightens up and modernizes the feel of the steering (more than you might imagine).

The carb's still flat-spotting a bit, so I still haven't gotten off a clean foot-to-the-floor row of the gears yet, but it's cleaning up, and I've pulled a clean gear or two.

It's nice.

Might put a waterpump in it today. I found one I had lying around that I might just put in, I just need to rummage some gaskets...
