Not bad for 60$ a month.. HBO, DVR, and phone came with it for free.
Total TV, internet, and phone w/ 2 boxes (1 DVR) bill = 140$ a month.
Can't complain, with the new modem they gave me there is no variation in speed, it's 50+ all the time.
So what's the rest of the US getting?

I see Fios isn't your area yet.
Buddy of mine (he's in Ridge) just did the same thing.
I'm on fios. 25-26mb down and 5-6mb up.
The wireless router they gave us works fine.

Biggest issue for me w/ FIOS is price.. besides it being no where near me..

Optimum came by my house recently and gave the hard sell to get us to switch, guy was more annoying since I was working on the bikes and he wouldnt leave me alone.
Plus he tried selling me on soem hockey package and sounded like a fan but was obvious he wasnt.

True with 100% fiber you don't get congestion at prime times.. but so far mine has been exactly like the FIOS line on the chart.

Watch it. That Optimum "boost" freq. is right on the default Ch. for Wifi G, IIRC, so you have to move your Wifi channel up to a higher # to avoid wireless probs (I had to).

Strange.. I figured being that the frequency is actually in the lines of the modem/router it wouldn't affect whats out in the air. So far mine has been working fine. I've used it with boost and now boost+. I have a gigabit wireless N router, but most things still operate on G w/o issue. dunno.

Been so long since I did it, I'm a little foggy. 6 is default channel for G? That had to be moved here, it was interfering.
