Nice, but what's the use of the hole in the hood, if all you can see is that plastic shroud? How about letting us see the actual engine?

It's a mess of spark plug wires and shit under there...looks bettah with the engine cover on. Same deal with the Camaro too.

The silver part you see is the top cover of the supercharger assembly, not a shroud.

That's the actual plenum? If so, cool.......It just looked like part of the shroud in that pic.
Wonder if that clear plastic window will turn yellow over time due to heat and sun....

And they are supposed to work significantly better. They are also an $8k+ option, not standard like on the ZR1, on a 911 (or $8,800 on a Turbo, GT3, GT3RS, GT3RS 4.0 all with six figure base prices).

Have they taken any of that money and put it into making the interior not complete and total plastic shit, or are they still pulling from the old Cavalier parts bins?

Interior is still Fisher Price.
Sad. My friend has a Z06. Awesome car, ripping fun to drive. The interior is a fucking embarrassment. It would be a joke in an Aveo. Quite a few cheap plastic pieces like the button to open the door, and a few of the interior panels have needed replacement multiple times. Whoever designed that for their flagship car should be fired, flogged, and shot.

Back in the day, less interior function was fine. The drivetrain was what counted. I don't stare at my interior when I'm hauling ass. I agree for the price paid it should be better but I wouldn't buy something like this for interior looks.

If it were just looks, it'd be slightly tolerable. The quality of the interior parts and the fit and finish is flat out abysmal and embarrassing. It shouldn't be tolerated in a $15K Cobalt, let alone a $120K ZR1. Horsepower is fantastic, but it means a whole lot less when the low grade plastic is repeatedly cracking and falling apart. That's just piss poor design that is unacceptable at any price point. A Chevy Lumina should not have a higher quality interior than any model of Corvette. No exceptions or excuses should be made, especially at that price level.

Won't argue that. Dodge has put out some really bad interiors, but they're not wrapping a $120K car around them.

You guys crack me up...."I wouldn't drive THAT"...."It's a plastic heap of shit...blah blah blah"....acting like your Jeremy Clarkson...or Jay Leno...people with the resources to REALLY be particular about what they drive. (And Clarkson LOVED the ZR-1....just say'in.)
If someone parked a ZR-1 in your driveway and said, here, it's yours to drive....every one of you would pull a fucking hamstring rushing out there to drive it...to go show it off to your friends.
(Well, except for Slice...who would likely stand there whining about how it's paint didn't match his shoes....you know, to look "cool" in front of the other gay ass hipsters arriving in their beat down "I got a great deal" Audis  )

That cah makes me hahd in my pants.
I'd drive that cah ovah to the Nahth End for lunch. Then I'd pahk in front of Faneuil Hall and sit on the hood with my Bruins jersey on so everybody would know how wicked awesome I am.
I'd drive to The Cape anytime it is wahm.
Bettah?
If someone gave me this car, I would immediately put if for sale. I could go out and get me a lot of moto stuff for the money I would get from this car and it wouldn't be worth it to drive it and risk reducing it's value. I see $$$ when looking at it, not fun factor.

Its not that I wouldn't drive or that I do not like the car.
Its just not a car I would buy. If I wanted to buy a vette, it would be a ZO6.
If I wanted that drivetrain, I'd buy a CTS-v wagon with a 6spd thank you.

I disagree. To me (personal opinion only), the Corvette is an overpriced Camaro. It elicits almost zero emotional response from me. Were a ZR1 to magically show up in my driveway, I'd put it up for sale or trade it in and would have zero regrets. They're fun to drive in short periods of time, but there are plenty of other cars (and bikes) I'd much rather have at that price and less.

A great car is a great car, and yes, that car is a great car, but that doesn't mean it's without flaws. What's wrong with pointing them out? Some people like me are perfectionists......I look at shit and go, "they could have done THIS"
It is called the glass half empty syndrome.
Plus, I'm sitting here in front of a computer......I can't drive it.......All I can do is look at it and make comments.
Meanwhile I have the free cash to not need a mortgage, and to nibble on stocks as the market goes down...

How did you end up with the A4?
Did you finally retire the Probe?
Is it the 5v 2.8 V6 or the 1.8T?
Homeslice
08-10-2011, 05:29 PM
The Probe needed too much work to justify for something only worth $1,500, lol........struts, paint job, tires......
Wanted a 4 door anyway.....with AWD for Tahoe trips
It's the 5V V6........The 1.8T is a good motor too, but only if the previous owner used good oil and changed it regularly
You can get Audis cheap because their resale sucks......People get afraid of them as time goes by

if I had my choice and i have over the years I would take the camaro over the vette. I have had almost every generation of camaro and love them. that said I would take any of those old muscle cars over any new corvette/camaro whatever. Another thing why do guys with factory stock new cars think they should "show" their cars. they're nice and all but if people want to see them they can go to a dealer and then they can even take it for a spin.
