I was thinking today that I am addicted to my damn iphone. You know its bad when your one year old hands you your phone when you leave it somewhere. So.. my challenge to myself is to put it on the hutch and leave it there unless my husband calls or texts ( he's gone for 3 days for work)..
Anyone else have this same addiction?

I'm about to ban my gf's from my car. As in, she will not even transport it in my vehicle.
And another thing, there is absolutely nothing that you have on your phone that I want to see. Ever. If I were interested in apps I'd have a smart phone. ( Not at you Sherri)

You smartphone whore.
I'm thinking of getting off of smartphones. $100 a month is just too much.

I'm getting tired of Tracy's as well. As soon as it makes a noise she goes into another world. It seems to make noise everytime I'm speaking.
People who cant take their eyes/attention off them for 2 seconds get annoying in a hurry. And, yes, I do have one. No, I'm not going to now say "I only use it as a clock and in case of emergency" but I got along just fine without it and could easily go back to that.:idk:

I honestly want to throw my husbands in a pissy toilet some days, he's always on it, I think more than I am.
I have to admit that I am guilty of reading juicy posts from a forum I belong to to him, I can even see his eyes glaze over sometimes..lol

I use it to multi-task because if I'm not doing 3 things at once I go freaking insane.

I myself have 2 of them. And I don't mind. They help me be more organized with life and that's something I love doing.

I use mine when Im bored and when I need one of the apps for something but when Im home I mostly just answer text messages now and then. At night I dont even keep it in my bed room, I never understood people who wake up to answer text messages.

My phone is always with me. Its great to have when I'm waiting for a loading dock to back into. I have my BBM, text, Internet, Facebook, Twitter and I would have Google + if they had something for Blackberries.

This the whole reason I never got into smartphones.

I put my phone on "alarm only" at night. Some people don't understand the world doesn't revolve around them so they send text messages whenever they feel like it. They figure that you must be awake since they're awake at 2am. I have to work. I don't want to be woken up by my damn phone beeping just because some jackass sent me a text at 2am.
However, I do wish there was a way to only let certain phone numbers cause your phone to ring, simply in case of emergency.

I can't justify paying that much money for a phone

Some of the people I follow on Twitter I have it set to text me anything they post. Its good when I'm bored because I don't have to search for their posts. The only issue is there are a couple of them that are on the west coast.
As I go to bed they start posting messages on Twitter which causes my phone to beep.

Can't afford the extra cost, and don't see a reason for it. I've never NEEDED the internet, or an app, or whatever, when I was somewhere that didn't have wifi or other access.
I did have a BB for awhile, before deployment, but only so I could use it as a modem to my computer at MOB station. I knew they wouldn't have wifi there, so I planned ahead. I don't miss it a bit now, but it is tough finding a decent "dumb" phone. Looking at the Convoy 2.

My smart phone has, for the most part, has cut back my use of computers to a large extent. I almost never check email on the computer now. I stream netflix on my phone far more often than I do on the computer. I check my social media stuff on the phone. The camera (with the help of a camera app or two) has replaced a standard point and shoot. For me, it's a justifiable expense for the added convenience it gives me.

The internet has helped me many times in just the last month with my job. I also used it in another job I had quite a bit. I feel lost without it.
Plus its just something to kill a bit of boredom during the day. Plus I have been using it looking for jobs and so on for over a year. There was a period of 9 months or more that I checked it 5 times a day for jobs while doing other things.
Plus the email is also a great tool.
I know its not for everyone but for me its wanted and at times needed.

This is me, for the most part. Erik on the other hand is on his 24/7, just texts. We were talking today and it was going off. Started to really piss me off. Going off as I type this and I'm ready to f*ing scream!

Texting to me is a big pain in the ass. I try to do as little of it as possible. There is no phone that allows you to type as fast as a PC.

I know I could type pretty fast on my Treo and Bold. And its much faster then driving home to send a message then driving back to where I was when I decided I had to send a message.

Your not week. Your not a quitter.
I'm in my chair, feet up on the desk, wireless keyboard on my lap, wireless mouse just at the edge of the desk inches away from my arm rest and my Blackberry is laying on my chest. Been sending bbm's for hours.

I use mine constantly...very little for communicating and more for info at a moments need. I use the maps constantly to find things, check out distance, etc. I use the internet all the time to search for whatever I need to know at that moment. For example, moving last week I needed to find out what the size of the new washer and dryer I had ordered to make sure they'd fit, no internet bc the service guy hadnt gotten there yet, pulled it up on my phone and within seconds had everything I needed to know. Or when looking for a new laptop for the hubby, I was able to go online, and search several different websites to peruse the reviews on the model we were interested in while the sales guy who new NOTHING about it other than it plugged into a wall and had wifi capability tried to explain the features. I like to price shop too, standing in one store and seeing if I can find it cheaper elsewhere before spending the cash. I play solitaire every night before bed to make my mind stop spinning and relax.

Voice and swype are pretty close. I put a smart phone and a tablet to sturgis. I had no internet connection.... cured me pretty quickly of my smartphone addiction. It was absolutely liberating.
