MADISON, Wis. - Already well-known in the sportbike market for its high-end, high-performance exhausts, Akrapovic is entering the V-twin world with an offering exclusive to Drag Specialties.

The Custom Range for Harley-Davidson features a full exhaust system and slip-on cans with applications for the Sportster, Touring, Dyna and Softail lines. The stainless steel units are available in a chrome or black finish, and feature a modular design that allows riders to replace and rebuild the pipes.

Akrapovic's slip-ons feature an optional and quite unique valve system that can be use to control the sound of the exhaust. When installed, the rider adjusts the butterfly valve via a nob that can be mounted under the seat.

The full system (see Sportster application in pic top of page) includes header, muffler and heatshield. An optional noise reduction insert is also available.

Michael Larkin, Akrapovic's motorcycle division manager, says the company invested two years into developing the exhausts to make sure it nailed the sound, aesthetic and performance required by V-twin customers.

Nah, that would take away from the chrome on chrome and chrome look. They just need to make it sound like a series of runny diarrhea farts through a pair of latex pants.

I think they may look good on some bobber sporties. But I don't like the short pipes on the touring bikes.
