2011 Chevrolet Cruze - Competent rental car. Aspires to be the new Hyundai or something. Fleet sales will pump up numbers and have PR team talking about how well Cruze is selling. 2 years later everyone will notice the same shit going wrong with it that all GM passenger cars have going wrong with it and Consumer Reports will give it a black dot. End result will be the typical consumer in the market for something like the cruze will pass it up.

2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee - Will save Chrysler just like the last time....oh look a cookie. There is no growth in that market right now. Existing customers who would have bought it whether it was carry over or new design...

2011 Buick Regal - Competent car (nothing special compared to competition but not a bad car for what it is) sold out of dealership that few go to.

2011 Ford Fiesta - Low Volume car. Makes nice media presence...not sales

2011 Ford Focus - Should do well until styling wears off. With the right marketing campaign this car could take over the niche VW is fucking up.

2013 Chevrolet Malibu - Will save GM just like last redesign did...oh look a bag o chips!!
Seriously...a 4banger drivetrain and Camaro styling cues is not going to turn this car into a sales king.

2013 Dodge Caliber replacement? Fucking really? "Something" in the future will save Chrysler. Thats what they just said...

I didn't see a single car that I would want in the list.

Funny thing: If you hit NEXT real quick between slides 6, 7, & 8, you realize that the front of all three cars is nearly identical, save the grill, and subtle differences in the lights.

...and there's your "big 3". Making some homogenized shit that all looks alike.

Of that list, I like the Fiesta, just not enough to actually buy one.

Only if it was AWD and Turbocharged

Calilber is garbage, they should just put a stake into it. Gee let's take a Neon-type chassis and try to make it look like an SUV. Miserable fail. Just for kicks lets give it a CVT. Erm, yeah. Worst rental I've ever driven.

As for the Focus, I honestly see no compelling reason why someone would buy that over a Fiesta. The Fiesta looks cooler and offers about the same performance. Only when the hi-po Focus finally arrives will there be a reason to get a Focus.

we just added the focus and fiestas to our fleet at work. its like you told an alien what a car was and let him wing it. things are put in odd and awkward places, sightlines suck, and sync is a confusing mess. wanna stream music from your phone via bluetooth? theres no button, no software menu option, only vague references in the UM, turns out you pull the fucking voice command paddle and ask for it. pain in the dick

we got malibus too. to say its a cheap plastic shitbox would be kind

and i have no faith in a new small car from dodge unless its an Iaccoca remake

We own a fiesta. It's a great little car that we've had barely any issue with. Gets easily 35mpg all the time. There is a thread around here by me on it.

The cruze, while better than the cobalt, still looks like cheap poop. Can't see why you would buy it over the fiesta or focus, which have by HUGE leaps in looks. Let's not even add in the gm lawsuit thread derf linked & how they tried to screw me over. F gm.

The jeep gc is ok, has a GREAT ad campaign, but lacks any real distinct change from past years. Further, just like the $35k chopper craze is done, so is the suv craze.

That regal pictured is not the good one. Their supercharged version is howt.

The focus is nice and is about $5k more than the fiesta for a slightly larger version. Perhaps that is "right on". Idk.

A caliper? Really? Its sucked from day one.

Malibu? Idk. I don't understand the current similarities from that to the impalla. They need to separate the 2 models. The "new" malibu doesn't look any different than previous. It also further pushes the same lame chevy look. The double grill with center bow tie look is being way way way over used.

You know what the "herd" of the public is looking for, right? They are looking for someone to tell them what to buy. That article just tried to do that.

All the marketing in the world couldn't get me to buy any of those cars.

Cruze gets 42mpg w/ a 1.4L Turbo.. Nice ride on the test drive. Gonna test drive the Sonic to see if it's a good commuter car.. Should be around 42 mpg for like $14k.

Fiesta looks weird & sub mpg in their class, but sells really well everywhere..

Never liked focusses(s) but they look better and I see a lot of them.

Mom has a Dodge Caliber, been pretty good for a year and is kinda useful.

the herd doesnt want to drive, the herd hates cars. the herd wants a sensory deprivation chamber that has all the connections of home and doesnt guilt them with supposed environmental destruction. the herd thinks the only cars worth a fuck have roundels, arrows, or L's on the hood.

the herd blows dicks

Dave it may be turbo... I don't remember.

What I don't understand, is how they could keep the Volt out of that list. I mean the battery assembly plant is 10 mins from my house and the car's assembly is 20mins from home. Further, it's a car that can change the game for the Big US 3.

Volt left out of list because of cost per unit and competition ( I would imagine)
