what to do on LA w/ kids

so Z has a convention in LA in a few wks, and i have relatives w/ kids there that my kids have never met. so we're debating on going out there, but only for a few days literally.

our itinerary at this point is:
arrive in the morn on a fri
Z has convention most of sat
leave sun morn.

i was thinking of renting a car and driving the kids up PCH1 maybe hit the beach

anyone local have any ideas?

squash the idea now, 1 of my cousins whole family will be out of town that weekend, and only 1 family left, not worth flying the kids for that.....
