Since I'm the kinda guy that keeps bottled water, extra flashlights, batteries, and a well stocked pantry...and keeps a generator and cans of gas handy...I found that I really had no reason at all to leave the house to go get anything for actual storm preparation...then it hit me.

I was out of bacon.

How could I have let this happen?

There was a state of emergency declared, and I had less than two hours left before cars would be ordered off the roads.

I had bacon bits, but in an emergency situation, I prefer a fuller pork belly coverage of my bacon needs.

Clearly, I had to act.

So, the search was on. It soon became obvious that others were stockpiling bacon, and had anticipated this need before me. Dammit. I had slacked on such an important matter. Fuck.

The Hess was out of it, the Wawa was picked clean...and then, I suddenly remembered the CVS. Who buys bacon at a fucking drugstore? I know they usually have it, but really....? So, I promptly assumed that of all places, if there was a slab yet to be had...I'd probably find it there.

So; a mad dash to the CVS was on...and as I dodged frantic last-minute shoppers streaming out of the CVS, I slithered in, closely hugging the leftmost side refrigerated aisle, as I targeted the fridge case most likely to contain the precious porkfat...and BINGO! One rather fatty slab of smoked goodness remained, and I quickly swooped in to make it mine.

There are important things to plan for in a storm.

Never again will I risk this potential crisis.

From now on, I stock more fucking bacon in the freezer...

:rockwoot:

A serious storm situation narrowly averted...

I commend your priorities and quick thinking. Others would have suffered for their lack of determination.

Good man for being prepared; even considering your oversight on the bacon.

There should never be an oversight when it comes to bacon
