Maybe it is just me but this shit really annoys me
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKBebh_3Ub8
I get the part about reading by the beach. Not a bad idea, though you should be paying attention to your kid.
The 2nd part really bugs me though. She's having a nice lunch/brunch with her friend and she suddenly ignores her friend while talking to her and wants to tweet or read something. It just seems extremely rude to me. If I'm eating with someone or even just talking, I turn my phone to silent or vibrate.
Then she uses it while camping. It makes us look like technological dependent morons who aren't even close to prepared for a zombie apocolypse. Of course she looks like a stuck up bitch who probably doesn't give her husband anymore becuase of her kid that she ignores.
I guess it bugs me because I'll see it at school a lot. Groups of friends sitting around on their computers and not talking. Why even be friends. At least the LARPers are having fun and interacting with each other.

Yeah I think the same thing when I see that commercial. Especially the camping part. The whole family is sitting there waiting for her to finish her stupid tweet.

Maybe I misunderstood it, but I thought it was saying all the things it could do, not necessarily that she was doing it? How else are they gonna sell the shit?

Thank you.
We made this observation while at dinner tonight. To many tables were filled with people just looking at their phones...

I understand wanting to show its capabilities. But I feel they could have done it differently. For example, instead of her looking at it and ignoring her friend at a lunch, why not just show her sitting in the park by herself checking it out and not being a total bitch. For showing the capabilities of when they are far away from wifi, they could have shown her in the car with the family, looking for a good place to eat or visit while on the road.
Why not feature kids using it in a college class, ignoring their professor, and checking their FB status? That's how it is used anyways which really pisses me off nad why I make sure I always sit up front. I can't stand being behind someone who is doing random shit on their computer. That should be legal grounds for me to cut their head off with a rusted up car key. And the tablets have made it 10x worse.

I've managed to fuck up every iP(insert rest of word here) I have come across. I locked up an iPad just playing Angry Birds. No device is perfect. My droid incredible runs like a top most of the time, but it has it's bad moments. I have seen some droid phones that suck. Warranty those bitches.

I just can't get into the idea of something so thin that it doesn't provide any good way to grip it. Holding it the way she was holding it with her left hand is stupid. It would wiggle every time you swiped on it with your other hand.
And IMO it's kinda silly to own both a tablet AND a smartphone. You're spending too much money on overlapping capabilities. Keep using the laptop you already paid hundreds for. Just because it's a little more cumbersome isn't going to kill you.

Best way I have found to hold an iPad is when people have those tri fold cases for standing them up. You can hold it like a book. It's a lot thicker.
I can see owning one if you have a long commute where you ride everyday, not as a driver. Having a larger screen would be nice.

Well actually it can be a problem to me. I'm in college and people will use these in class all of the time. Not that I care for them but it's hard to pay attention to what the professor is writing or talking about when you have some dimwit in front of you playing random bright and vibrant games or spending their time looking at 10,000 pics of the same 3 poses on facebook. I myself fixed this by moving to the very front of the classes I take but because of how some of my classes are set up, if you sit at the front you can't see the entire board due to podiums or the professor themself in the way.
I also find it a problem with our society. People have quit interacting and devoted all of their time to various BS on the internet. I see groups of "friends" sit at tables and the most they ever say to each other is "did you see __________'s facebook page" followed by either "yeah, that's crazy" or "no, let me check it out". The only people I see interact on my campus are the LARPers and smokers.

I owe the IRS money and I almost killed a 24 day old baby the other day. I can still hear the mother yelling "you're killing my him" and "do something" ringing in my head. It wasn't my fault (severe latex allergy that a doctor and mother didn't inform me about even though I asked about allergies) but it's not fun watching kids die. I can only think of 2 people on here who can relate to that. What kind of problems do you have?

I didn't even see her kids at the beach. And her husband was up so if they are there maybe he was just up playing with them while mommy got some r&r.
The twitter part came as they were leaving the "lunch" in the conversion in the ad. But it could have been what they were talking about. Hey did you see what so and so posted on Twitter? No. You have to check it out. Ok but won't the tv viewers find me stuck up bitch? No not at all. Ok.
The camping trip. They are not waiting for her to finish with Ipad. They are sitting for her to take a picture. People like to do that to look back at the good times they had.
"prepared for a zombie apocalypse" I'm sure they have an app for that. Don't sweat it.

I find the Facebook comment great. To me its a good thing. I was talking to someone I haven't seen in a while. Well they knew part of something I was telling them because of what they read on my Facebook page and from pictures. It saved all of the talk leading up to what I was saying. And I could finish up and get on to asking them what they been up to.
I have been at parties and having a conversation was improved because of a smart phone. We were talking about boats at one and I able to show that person a boat another person we know just bought. Made it much easier then just trying to explain it.
Maybe there are some people that sit higher that don't have tablets that you can sit behind.

Well, I was in college before this shit... and you know what those fucktards did then, they sat in the back and talked to eachother and disrupted the class 10x as bad... I'd pray for something that would silence them, until I figured out, "hey, shut the fuck up I'm paying for this... if you don't want to be here, get the fuck out..." worked like a champ. I probably wouldn't say anything to someone banging away on their iDroidBerry Xtreme 5efG.
