We have another licensed rider on the boards...

ONSSP went through the MSF course over the weekend... Did GREAT! Dropped it a couple of times day 1, none on day 2, and KILLED her test.

Sooooooo freakin' proud of her... Here's some shitty cell phone pix...

Not sure we'll ever get to the track... She's more of a 'stroll through the flowers' kind of person... don't really see her ever getting to a 'good pace'... if you mean, what I think you mean...

That said, a rally in 2013 may be a possibility... 2012 is already booked with our wedding/honeymoon.

Don't mean my kind of good pace, I mean riding a safe pace. Which isn't ungodly slow or fast. Just a reasonable speed (little faster than cage traffic) pace.

Oh yeah... For sure... Yeah, we certainly need to get her some real seat time outside of the parking lot to make her a competent rider...

congrats, will she inherit the shadow as her ride or something else?

The Shadow's days are numbered... But we already have this:

I've been trying to convince my wife to get her endorsement via taking the MSF BRC but she insists she'd rather be a passenger than a rider. I think once she got in the saddle she'd like it though.

Well, right after the beating she took this weekend, she said she'd rather be passenger again... lol...

Seriously, she's never ridden a bike, then spends probably 14 hours of stop and go in one weekend... She was all sorts of fucked up...

And thank you so much everybody!! OSP is right...I got MESSED up over the weekend from riding so much, but I am pretty excited about riding at my own pace and getting the hang of it! I am proud to say that I passed my test with flying colors...there was about 9-10 students and only one guy failed.

Did you put it all the way down or just tip it over at 0? We had a lady start to go over, planted her foot down, and accidentally yanked the throttle all the way open, and sent the bike flipping out from underneather her becasue all her weight was on her planted foot.

Yeah, I dropped it at 0. I had stopped with the bars a little crooked and the bike was too heavy for me to bring it upright, so I just dropped it. Other than that, I haven't dropped it and did awesome on my test! Yay! :)

Troof. I got one of the only 3 nice bikes in my msf. 2 were brand new yamaha tm200 and the other was a zuk dr200 (250?). I was on a yammie. All the other students had beat to fucking hell cruiser style 125s and 250s, mostly rebels.

It was the MSF class, but at the HD dealer... Wasn't called Rider's Edge...

They were POS for sure... all of them idled at different speeds... seemed to stall frequently (without fucking up the clutch) and maybe one of them really sounded 'right'...

Congrats ONSSP!!

No, some guy and some chick... Irish lady... She was pretty funny... told everyone a story about being run over by a girl, then passing her for the actual test.

All Blasts... perhaps Blasteds would be more appropriate.

Hell yeah... my BIL's little POS had a hole in the side case cover of the motor, I think it didn't even have any oil in it anymore. Many of them had drum brakes. Some clutches didn't work for shit. My problem is that you are holding a student at fault when really the bike is a POS. Then you fail a student when the clutch don't work for shit or the brakes are - nothing/nothing/nothing/lock up.

Like the pile of poop we were on, brakes sucked for the wife, she valted off her's later this day.

I took the class as well just for moral support, but as an expierenced rider with nearly 50k under my belt at this time, I could operate it with no issue, working past the bike's faults.

Usually those Blasts are in good condition, but then again it's usually Rider's Edge.

congrats!! great job. when is the scraming Ninja hitting the streets?

My son took the rider's edge, funny he was riding his Ninja 250 to class then playing with a blast at the class. their blasts were in pretty good shape but did have some scuffs from previous classes. Of course they got a few new scuffs from some of the folks in his class. one lady went down hard on her shoulder. locked the front going into a turn when the instructor screamed at her to slow down.

I know... I always wanted a track bike... thinking about it in a whole new way now... Perhaps Ninj 250... maybe a real simple motard... Never really thought about getting anything other than a 600 or bigger sportbike for the track... Now I think I'd be better served with something else... That's a pipe dream now however...

I am a big believer in little bikes. Riding little bikes makes you more technically capable, lack of power means you have to be more technically accomplished. You have to be smooth and hit the corners hard. I've learned more from riding the fiddy than I ever did from riding the 600rr. Anyone can twist a throttle.

How big are you? I talked to a guy that races 250's. I was thinking about doing it, but he said with my weight, the bikes suspension would need a serious overhaul/upgrade. And I'd be racing against some skinnny dudes, so i'd be at a bigger disadvantage than a 500/650.

It has a windscreen and a lower fairing... that's just home in the garage... I had it all taken apart to work on it, just put the upper back on so it'd be legal to ride...

Yeah, I'm about 280 so I can feel the suspension working overtime when I just get on the fucking bike... I hear an older ZX6 shock goes in without issue and I'd probably look to do a complete fork upgrade if I were to get one... Not sure though... finances are tough right now due to some unforeseen expenses, but once the savings gets built back up, I'm gonna be lookin' for something...

Plus I'm not looking to race... just a toy... I'm honestly thinking hard about a motard, but it'd have to be the right deal. I've always wanted one for the street, but I'm sure it would be a blast on the track. Once the finances are in order, we'll see what craigslist provides...

A few guys down here are trying to get together a 250 spec class.

I know you are going to say "no racing, just trackdays" but just wait until you see how much fun it is riding with 8 -10 other guys on the same bike.
