I call bullshit... the world didn't get color until the 50's. :nee:

Seriously though, that's really great material.
They have a whole different feel from most of the photos you see from that era.

The chick on the far right in pic #11 looks like Lou Ferrigno.

#70... The Walking Dead?

You're thinking color TV/movies. Color photography was actually available as early as 1898 (although at that point it was rare, and hard to use, being as it was still designed for daguerrotypes and the like). "Modern" color film was available through Kodak by 1935.

That being said, these are really cool. Oddly enough, even though I've learned a lot about FSA photographers, I've never seen these photos before. Come to think of it though, it's not that odd - there's still an attitude against color photography in editorial and journalism work, even though it's not as prevalent as it was back then or even in the 60's.

Some of those are large format photos (starting at #42).. I'm guessing 4x5, if only because larger cameras would have been even harder to manage.

I'm having such a massive geek moment - I so dig this stuff.

No, I'm saying the WORLD was not in color until the 50's... what good would color film have been?

After looking at these pictures, I can't help but think "damn, my life is easy". Half those fuckers didn't even have shoes.

Also this makes me think of this song...
