Sales of Scooters from the major manufacturers (Vespa, Honda, Piaggo and Yamaha) are up close to 30% from last year, an increase the envy of all heavy bikes motorcycle manufacturers.

The growing popularity of scooters in America (they have always been extremely popular in Europe since WWII) incited the Petersen Automotive Museum to create an exhibit called “Scooters. Size Doesn’t Matter” retracing the chronological evolution of the motor scooter from 1910′s to today. The exhibition runs through May 28, 2012. California used to be a major hub for scooter manufacturers and maybe it will become again… Petersen Automotive Museum Scooters Exhibit. (http://www.petersen.org/default.cfm?docid=1082)
