Woot is selling the GoPro Hd helmet cam for $130. If you've ever wanted one, now would be the time to get it.

I've looked at the Contour HD and I think that either would make a decent set-up for sure. I might buy the LCD screen to help me set camera angle and then take it off for actual recording as I hear it's a battery killer. Although, the new set-up does allow for charging while using the camera.... Hmmmm.... We'll see when I get it.

$89.00 for the Contour is a great price, for a good camera. About $50.00 less than the best deal I found.

I had the Contour HD and avoided the GoPro line, because I just don't like the form factor. I went with the Replay XD1080 instead. Pricey, but I like it. I can check the aim when it's mounted to my helmet, by plugging it straight into a TV's HDMI port.

Yeah I bought that Contour HD the week before it went on sale for $130. Suck. It works well though. I put it on a buddy's goggles yesterday so he could film. Stupid easy to use and good quality.

I just can't get over the Fisher-Price look of the GroPro.

True dat! I don't like the way they look either...but they do work extremely well. I don't know for sure but is the Contour line water proof? That was a big deal for me.

The Contour cameras aren't waterproof, by themselves, but they have waterproof cases available.

That's what I thought.... I heavily researched this deal originally (this is my 3rd GoPro) and for the money, I felt that they had the best deal overall...

Since we were already talking video cams here, I thought I'd post a link to my Replay XD1080 write-up.

Having a laser, for aiming, is a definite plus. One of the things I miss about the Contour HD is that it had two lasers, that could be used to aim and level the camera.
