I think the term "Cow soccer" was used at my local UPS hub. People i know who worked there would punt gateway boxes.

"Fragile`... it's Italian for 'kick me'..." was what my Team Coordinator told me on my first day loading trucks for RPS (later bought out by FedEx)... The guy loading trucks with me used to reguarly toss very heavy 'incompatibles' on top of other boxes and walls... Things like boxes of nails, tombstones, semi truck tires... "if you smash these down a bit, you can fit more in."

Early in my career, in the computer industry, I filled in for the regular shipping guy over the Christmas holidays. That's when the Metro Express guy told me that "fragile" is translated as "throw underhand", by most drivers.

"disciplinary review process" and "not working with customers" is corporate code for "we will make his life hell until he quits so we don't have to pay unemployment to his dumb ass."

Fed ex isnt union, or at least I dont think it is. Would be a little harder with UPS when the mafioso errr I mean union reps show up and fight for the guys job.

I don't think a huge company like FedEx would care about paying unemployment to 1 person. Also, if he was fired for cause (such as gross misconduct), many states will disallow unemplyment anyway.

If FedEx had a clue, they would have fired him just for the PR benefits alone.

So now he's in the shipping area punting boxes around vs over fences, lol

That's Bullshit. Guy just throws it like it's a soccer ball that got kicked over the fence and he helped you out by tossing it back over.

I'd have loved to hear his excuse when they asked him why he did it...Not knowing it was videotaped.

Just goes to show, you never know who's watching.

You'd be surprised how hard a large company will fight to prevent mostly the Wrongful Termination lawsuit that invariably happens. Cheaper just to make him quit. Also, even if the DID fire the guy, they can't make it public because of all of the privacy stuff out there (again, lawsuit potential). The guy would end up with a payday even though he fucked up and that just ain't right.

Given the timing, I would have to agree.

I dont think it's staged. Although It made the news and UPS released a statement about it stating they havent seen the video (Or had not at the time of the news coverage)

It would not shock me at all if it was legit. People are scumbags.

The guy gives a finger to the camera. Why would any sane person do that if he knew he was being recorded (unless he was quitting anyway)?

Sixxxxer

Why wouldnt they?

You make it seem like people make rational decisions all the time? Maybe he saw the Fedex video and doesnt appreciate people with home security systems and cameras so he was making a statement?

I dont assume people make smart decisions in life...I gave up on the human race.
