I did more research and it's a legit learning process. The vid I believe is just promoting a very basic kit. There's another website that has a lot more to offer, but cost way more of course.

Not sure, but the web address in the video is wrong. It should end with "special-offer" instead of sale. If you use the website in the video, you won't get there.
Read the fine print:

Yea I saw that. I just want to speak and understand spanish. I don't care about reading/writing it.
I guess I'll have to Rrrrrrrrr a program. Rosetta is stupid priced.
I tried livemocha but it's just rosetta/classes. I dont care about reading.

I'd be interested if it were a complete kit. I'm not big on the "only $10" thing, listen, you'd spend a lot more money on other silly ideas/methods/classes.... just gimme the whole thing up front so I can see if I want to really invest my money in such a product.

Get dropped in the slums of Sao Paulo and I bet you're fluent in Portuguese in two weeks.
Or dead.

 obviously.
Here's how I look at it. I'm learning it to help my husband. I already know enough French to get out of an elevator and order lunch. It is convenient that the word for shoes is pretty universal. Though that doesn't help him much. He's surrounded and the one learning the hard way. The majority of his staff are Brazilian. He has translators, but it's clearly more fun for him to know what they are saying when they think he doesn't know...
