Whats more important to a person...
Being there for a child during their time of need
or
To satisfy a need for vengeance?

Thats not an answer.

Thats not an answer.

Kid will need a father...not someone locked away in prison for murder.
That's my answer

Rational thought is easy when you're not in that situation... I'd like to say I'd do the right thing... but I can't say for certain that I wouldn't have shot that motherfucker in the head either...

That's my answerQFT.

To save my son's life, no doubt I would do anything, even if it meant losing mine.

However, at that point in time, what my son would need is a father, not a convict.

The video says he only got 5 years probation for the shooting. Win-win.

He didn't get locked away, he got probation.

He didn't get locked away, he got probation.
That's great and all, but there's no guarantee that you're getting off with a slap in the wrist when you shoot someone in the face.

I never said there was.

But Paul's "I always answer what a law professor would want me to answer" answer assumes an instant life sentence. That isn't guaranteed either.

He didn't "only" get probation, he also got a felony conviction. That means no more votes, guns, or good jobs. When you murder someone on video you can count on a huge bail amount if bail is granted at all. That likely means being held in jail from the time of the shooting until your trial is complete. That process can take months even if the process moves quickly or over a year if it does not.

I'm not sure what I would do, but if I did decide to grease the fucker I'd find a way that was less obvious than this. The probation, conviction, and jail issues fade away if the cops can't prove it was you.

Especially if the cops aren't too motivated to find the killer of a pedo in the first place...

word.

Yeah I don't think I'd do it the same way as that guy, I mean the cops had him and he was going to jail.....

But if/when he got out. Open season.... Some may judge me with "oh, he did his time, paid his debt to society." Yeah. that's fine, but I"m not society -- I'm a heavy handed tax man. Time to pay up.

Would I do it? Would I plot to kill someone by determining where he would be brought through a public area and then lay in wait, to kill him? I don't think so. I can't answer what I would do if he happened to cross my path though, while I had a weapon in hand.

This is an old, old case.

That's a good point.

All you have to do is put a mask on before you go the airport and start shooting people in the head, and you're pretty much guaranteed success.

Considering who makes up airport "security" these days, he just may get away with it
