I have been a lot less active, just got a lot going on outside the forum right now. It sucks a lot of the regulars have the same going on in their lives too. The place doesn't cost much to run as is, so I intend to leave it up as long as people want to visit, be it a ton of times during the day or just a few times a year.

I had a kid and the bike is under a pile of dust but due to gas prices I see a spike in user activity this spring. I'm expecting gas prices near $5 a gallon and the new buell are the 60 mpg will be greatly utilized. I'm already planning a trip to AZ during bonnaroo when she goes and I gtfo

I'm here... but with starting a new job and having to move and sell the house... a bit busy and not too worried about bikes.
BUT, I need to do a valve check/adjustment on the Buell before I start riding again, (so soonish) so I may jump on to ask some ?'s of the smart mechanical types...

I check in a couple of times a day when I am not working. Just don't post much. And with the new job and the accompanying mental and physical exhaustion, I haven't been riding.

I though the forum usually gets busier in the winter months because no one is riding

There are some good people on this site so I will always stop in to see if there is something to talk about.

That's the difference in temperature norms. My step-brother and I always joke that at the end of winter, we're ready to jump on the bikes when it gets up to 50, but at the end of summer, we wouldn't want to ride because it was only 60.

We've had a couple of cold (for us) weeks, but it's been pretty mild overall.

Mine is averaging about 41 mpg. That's with no track days or agressive twisty riding (cause obviously there isn't any here).

Sucks this year I probably won't be able to commute much on it, or I'll have to pick up a KLR or the like, as construction around the lake makes travel with anything less than a 4x4 virtually impossible.

She starts radiation on March 5th, five days a week for six weeks.

A reality check will alter your posting. My wife found a lump in her right breast in November. A couple of mammograms, an ultrasound and then biopsy results later, it tested positive for cancer.

She had surgery right before Christmas ( lumpectomy{sp?} and removal of two lymph nodes) . Luckily only the lump itself tested positive for cancer.

She starts radiation on March 5th, five days a week for six weeks.

Mary is doing good and has a positive attitude. :dthumb:

I feel like I'm riding a roller coaster in the dark. You know there are twists and turns but you have no freaking clue where they are.

Really puts things in perspective.
Here's hoping her treatments go well.

Sorry to hear that Jeff. Sounds like she'll be alright though. Sounds like she found it early. Tell her to keep up the good fight, finding it early means everything!!!

My dad didn't discover his till it was well into Stage 4. But he gave it a big fight but didn't make it... but his discovery was way way too late.

RIP Dad...

My wife's mother just went through that, give her all the support you can. She will need it through the rad part.

She's mentally prepared for it plus she works at the same hospital which she's getting the treatments at. She'll have support there and at home.

Really puts things in perspective.

You plan things and work towards retirement ( still a ways off but in the works ) and then WHAM, you get blindsided.

Fuck, man. Hope it all works out.

She's my best friend, we want to grow old together.

Chris,
We are lucky it was found early, it's been diagnosed as Stage 0. We're not free and clear yet, it's still cancer and has to be treated.

She does have a positive attitudeso right there is a BIG part to getting the upper hand.

Jeff, there's hope. My mother was stage 4 breast cancer last year. She got a remission diagnosis the day before Christmas.

That is what I hope for you.
