Just heard that someone took a chemical extinguisher to one of the computer labs. I've been involved in estimating damage from a fire in the past and it wasn't the fire that destroyed the computers, it was the fire extinguisher. Those things are hell.

Once security gets the door unlocked, I'll have to have a look.

FE-36 FTW!

Cleaning that mess up is something I hope I never have to do again. I feel your pain.

When it comes to moving parts, like fans, you just throw them out.

That's why you are suppose to use the CO2 fire ext. And they LOOK COMPLETELY different!

Doesn't do shit in a chemical fire.

Agree'd. I actually had to do the physical environment clean up as well. :(

It was a chem fire?

No, it sounds like it was an idiot student, but there are a lot of engineering labs in the area, so you won't find any CO2 extinguishers around.
