Ok CA peeps, need a little insight.
Took a new job a while back and now I need to go to school for it.
One of the options is going to Camp Parks, which is just out of Dublin CA.

My first available time to go would be mid August through mid September.

My plan would be to drive out with the bike, so I have something to do during my off time.

So... that time of year, how's the weather? Are there decent roads etc around that area? Anything else to do?

I've got time, just persuing my options.

It will be hot, dry, and just a typical suburb....nothing exciting

Honestly the bicycling here is better than the motorcycle riding

Yeah, I suppose, but even your "meh" riding areas are probably better than ND's good roads!

There are some really amazing rides south of there in the Santa Cruz and Monterey areas. Check out Pashnit.com for a list. Also MotoGP is usually sometime late in the summer so you'll be able to ride in. Check out BARF (Bay Area Riders' Forum). You'll also be <100 miles from Laguna Seca, Sears Point, and Thunderhill, all of which are bloody amazing. So go do some track days!

Probably won't have time for track days. Not sure if I will have any full days off, probably just evenings.
But thanks for the info, I'll look into those places!

Yeah, depending on how much time off we get.

If we're in class till 1700 and back up again at 0600, the longer distance trips are out.

No weekends?

Depends. It's 2 2 week classes back to back. I know the second weekend I won't be off, not sure on the first and third. Each school is different.
