I an seeing a trend with hjc... I have one too, not a bad helmet, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, it does its job, but its loud and the airflow sucks. I have a scorpion too, I love that thing, but I wish it was a modular.

Ed, you're like me..an Arai faithful.

I don't know why you ever though an HJC would stand up to the standard you have already set.

Arai = good paint, comfortable, but really sucky shield removal/re-attaching

ok guess i should rephrase that, there are only limited supply left in the US and because of that they arent in any of shops to try them on before buying since the model i have has been discontinued

I think you were, they released an updated version of the modular helmet just last year. Shark is just changing up their line up, so a lot of what we knew of Shark is going away for new versions.

Could you have picked a more homoerotic paint job?

right, cuz dragons and skulls or chics make you so much more manly.

GTFO if you don't like the stars/stripes

not sure what the deal w/ the Seals crest is, but maybe CE is paying homage to some troops/friends, dunno.

This is the first picture of Colin Edwards’ helmet design for the 2011 Indianapolis Grand Prix. Featuring the Special Warfare insignia of the US Navy SEALs and the stars and stripes, it pays tribute to the 22 special forces soldiers who were killed on August 6 when their helicopter was shot down in Afghanistan. Most of those soldiers were members of the elite SEAL Team 6, which was responsible for killing Osama bin Laden. Edwards is a long time supporter of the US Military, but wearing a helmet such as this in a very international competition, even one that takes place in America, is bound to prove controversial.

Anything's better than solids, IMO

I like solids stickered up. I definitely think going poser for a big name rider helmet like Rossi is extremely gay though. I wouldn't put an Edwards lid on that level though. This one though, I would leave for military riders to use, probably even go as far to say just Texas Navy riders.

But some people like that fugly Icon helmet a few years ago, so just use what you want... We can always make fun of you.

I have a difficult time making fun of someone that chooses to protect their head. manufacturers making their helmets appeal to there masses is a good thing....

check out the specific in person first if you buy it online. i bought an hjc a few years back it got finger print stains on it that i couldnt remove for the life of me just after i bought it. i know each brand does theirs differently, scorpions is easily cleaned but i went with the gloss black instead

not to mention bug guts.

they also absorb more heat than glossy helmets

i like the paint jobs on the "rider" helmets, doesn't matter who they are. now if you ride around on a repsol bike and wear a repsol lid and jacket, thats a bit much.

and we all know 'busa/gsxr gear sells.

i really do like the uniqness of the Rossi lids, there's a shop closing out the rossi chicken helmet for $300, normally $750+, i was considering it.

but i just can't pull the trigger on a flying chicken. lol

Helmet companies do a shitty job of offering decent generic paint jobs. It's sad the only way to get a decent paint is custom or buying a rider replica.
