I downloaded the newest version from Garmin. Had to update the software when I went to Windows 7.

Yep, it wouldnt let me get the full program. I even tried the trick with the training center and nothing works. I was wondering if someone had a link that they might happen to know of onlne

My recollection is that Mapsource isn't coded to the GPS, only the specific map set that is purchased to go with it.

You have to own a map set to use it. If you don't own a map set, you have to buy the new one. Map sets are tied to a GPS.

I bought the lifetime maps, I also have basecamp already, but it isnt the greatest for planning routes

weird, didnt think it wouldn't let you download it.

Basecamp and mapsource work about the same for me, not really sure what the difference in Roadtrip and Basecamp is (have both on my mac, both are mac available), I can't tell. LOL
