Guy came buy the house last night with a pretty decent offer, so I figured I'd check them out... First 30 days is free, so no worries... just curious what others experiences have been - Google search doesn't look promising.

I switched to U-verse a few months ago. I'm not a huge TV person so I usually go with whatever package gives me the few HD channels I want and internet.
Service has been fine.
I like the ability to set favorites on each TV.
Watch the price, when all the promos are over, their price is significantly higher than Comcast.
Internet is slower than Comcast with the same speed service.
When the promo rate expires, I'm goin back to Comcast unless AT&T offers me something great. YMMV.
Signed up for EPB fiber optics today. Fuck the Monopolies! Gigabit service would be awesome, lol.

Yeah, the price jumps up about $35/mo more than what I'm paying with Brighthouse in 6 months... however, I only have one box and no DVR now, U-Verse is giving me three boxes with DVR... The guy also said that ATT will provide the promo pricing if you call in and ask - I guess we'll see about that.
Right now I have Brighthouse with the standard 10mbps connection, U-Verse is 18mbps. Testing will certainly be needed.
I hear their interwebs speed is actually pretty low, despite the bandwidth possibilities. They use that pipe for TV and phone service. The only reason I'd want it is for South Korea-style nutsofast interwebs.

That's what EPB fiber is here in Chatty.
You can get Gigabit service for $300 a month lol. I got 50 meg for $50 a month.
Its a government run local power/TV/internet board. Comcast at&t charter dish and direct all sued to try and stop epb from going into TV internet, but the courts laughed them out of the courtroom. We now have the cheapest cable and dish services in the country cause of it. Its hilarious.

I've been on Uverse for over a year now. Wasn't crazy about the price jump after the promotional period and I'm not even signed up for any HD or premium stuff, but the service has been pretty solid.

Same here.
I'm just thrilled to be away from Time Warner. It hasn't been anything super fast. But, if I don't notice it because service isn't interrupted and I don't ever have to call to speak to someone to fix something I'm paying for, I'm a happy customer.

I had U-Verse for a while. Pretty much the same experience everybody else has had. Decent service, a lot of the features are cool, but once the promo is over, the price keeps going up, and up, and up . . .
I kept mine probably longer than I should have because I really did like it, but finally had to ditch it when the price started getting ridiculous.

Anyone tried to call ATT and get a cheaper rate? Or did you just cancel?
I found the same offer online, less the activation fee... called them up and they waived it... seemed pretty willing to work with me...

Biggest problem my bro says is that if you are running multiple tv's, the Dvr, and Internet. Your Internet will slow way way down.
