bid online. All the bikes are fairly high mileage though over 100k. I'm bidding

And the ones I checked out have had the instruments replaced and the odometers readings are inaccurate. I think that means a salvage title in most (or all?) states. For a couple grand they would be a pretty smoking deal though.

Enough mileage that you won't get laughed at when you show up to BMW meets

I set a fairly low max bid, with no expectations, I'll go back right before it ends and possibly bid a little extra and see if I can win. Really though, I wouldnt want to spend more than $1500 even if the bikes are worth more than that.

Still not enough
I'd totally rock one, but I think shipping would double the amount I spent on the bike.

I may be the only one on the board with a BMW R11xx bike.
It's amazing, no doubt! If you're remotely interested in riding distance, or doing serious touring, this is the bike to have.
Fred, mine has 38k and I get laughed at. My Hayabusa has 75k, I get a few more props for that. lol
Sean, I'll bet a plane ticket is cheaper than shipping. ;)

Thats exactly what I was thinking, a 1 way trip to anywhere in that area with a liscense plate and some riding gear in tow, be home in 2 days
I bumped into a guy a few weeks back that had a 2004 with almost 300k on it and he said he was starting to have problems, then he said he was kicking himself in the ass for not keeping up with the maintenance or it would be in much better shape

True. But, by the time I find time for such shenanigans, they will be long gone.

Buy me a plane ticket and I'll deliver it.
And Fred, it's one day from Austin to the Pacific Ocean. :D

If only you knew someone in Austin.
I'm interested, derf pm me the one you are bidding on so we don't bid against each other.

PM sent, we are all screwed
Well let me know if you win one and I will try to snag the next one. Not that interested in getting one. Not sure what I would do with it, GS is more than capable as a LD tourer

I'm in the same boat, but If It comes cheap then fix it up a bit, ride it around id dunno. I dont need one, but they all seem nice
I dont care if someone else bids on them, if anyone else here winds then cool. but my plan right now is to bid on all of them and worry later how to pay for it with money I dont have at the moment

Why are some of them higher bids than others? I don't see any significant differences. Equipment seems the same. Do y'all want me to call Sam and walk through the fleet with him? I'm headed in to DPS anyway on Friday...

yeh if you have an inside line that would be cool. I was looking through the bikes and they all seem to be about the same besides the year difference. I saw some minor scratches on a few of them showing that they were tipped over, but nothing too bad.

What do you guys expect these to go for?
I'm completely guessing, but I would bet between $2k and $5K. I'm betting that there are quite a few people out there waiting until the acution is almost over to place a few bids.

If they get over $500 I'm out...
damn.
The first two are at $2000 and $2600 with a few hours left to go. Gonna watch teh end of the auctions to see how much they go for
The first 2004 one went for 2750, i watched the price jump from 2110 about 20 minutes ago up to 2750 within the last 2 minutes
The second bike, a 2006 went for 2855, it was at 2715 up until the last 30 seconds.

Are those good prices?
What about when you factor in shipping costs or flight there to get it to ride it back?
They have sold on ebay for between 3k and 5k irregardless of condition and mileage. I have seen some of the better examples sell for 7k with low miles though

So still good deals.
Yeh better than can be had on any other auction site. But I think that has a lot to do with the fact that this is much less well known and gets a whole lot less traffic

naw, they all went for more than I was willing to pay
