That's what I thought at first, but watching the video in the link, it doesn't appear to be the case. She also stated in the interview that she thought the far train was right at the platform she was on, rather than being on the far platform. Watch the vid, she literally walks right off the platform, wil-e-coyote style.

Though I will say that it can be somewhat plausable. There isn't anything between the train on the other side and the train train she thought she was getting to. I know in the Atlanta trains you have beams and basically a steel beam going down the tracks that you couldn't mistake for being another train. Like a tree between a train and you.

Add a whiny kid in the city, being tired, a very crowded subway, and possibly no husband in the picture causing her to stress about everything else, I can see where hte mistake could happen.
