Not high enough, need to get the wife to make more money so we can crack the next bracket

Apparently I would do very well with my salary in Flint, Michigan. :lol

Pretty incredible to see that 25% of the population is flirting with the 6 figure mark. I guess that milestone is no longer as elite as it once was.

If you make $200,000 in Flint, you can get a shirt that says "i AM the 1%"

Looks like NYC included parts of NJ. I wonder what just Manhatten would be. I imagine $200,000 in Manhatten is like $80,000 elsewhere. Comfortable not not super rich.

Just realized you can mouse over a lot of other counties, not just the permanently tagged ones. Raleigh has a higher household income average than I would have expected.

Actually, most places do. Even Grand Rapids Michigan requires a decent salary to be in the top 5%.

Well, as long as I compare myself to only Texas non-metro areas and metro areas where I wouldn't want to live, my salary actually doesn't look too bad.

Where I own property in NJ I am in the bottom 48.
Where I am a registered voter in NJ I am in the top 52.
Where I live now in MD I am in the bottom 42 (metro areas) or the top 47 (non metro areas)

In Flint MI, top 17, all you poors need to get down and lick my boots clean

Top 38%.

If the wife would get another teaching job when the kids are older, we'd be in the top 18%.

The boarded up part starts about a mile away from downtown, which means there's still a decent area to go clubbing or catch a fight or concert. Also, all those white collar people working at the Rennaissance Center towers have to eat somewhere.

Not many want to live in Detroit city proper, just the out skirts and then go in for the retail aspects...

There are a couple parts that aren't bad. Plus there are things to do downtown, unlike Flint.

So true... rarely is there anything to do in Flint. I've lived in both metro areas. But if you truly want the best of the area... hats off to Novi, Royal Oak, or Grand Rapids areas.

This. Sorry, Gasman.

My husband and I do ok.

Yeah it's all fun and games till you get shot at in Detroit.

And like Smittie said... there is plenty of good shit to do downtown. I go there all the time, lots of great places to eat!

Homeslice actually said that. But I do agree. Providing I have that somewhat super secret Navy SEALs Bin Laden copter to fly into Downtown Detroit then a Fulton Recovery System to get me out, I'd be up for it. I just feel driving on the outskirts with all of thsoe out of work auto workers, I'd stop at a light and then NI'd have my car stripped of everything except the seat I'm sitting in.

Prob. W your scenario is that they are former union, w/o a union rep around they can't do much

And ESP. They couldn't strip the car quickly

Actually most of the former auto workers live in the suburbs of Detroit. The people IN Detroit work at TJMaxx, 7/11, and the TSA.

If they had a Union rep, then by law I'd have to stay there while they strip my car which could take a few weeks. With out a rep they actually have to work and compete in an open market of thugs, theives, and criminals who are willing to do it faster.

By the way, Azoomm, don't you dare wrap that shit up. Poke some holes and baby daddy that gold mine. Free actual race Ducatis for everyone on TWFix!

Lol, I'm in the top 35% in the Fargo area (only area ranked in ND).
Guess they must factor in all the poor college kids there...
