Thats sucks...you pick up some sudafed? Get the meth head version with the psuedofuctizine in it (the one you have to show your ID to get)

Open up the passages and then break out the netti bottle....

Steam and menthol, then keep a bucket handy for the amount of mucus that flows out.

I had a bad sinus infection like that a few years ago. Started out as a headache when I got to work, turned into "it hurts so bad I can't turn my head" (and I still had to drive home). Went to the doc and got some bad ass antibiotics to help knock it out. Don't remember what, if any, decongestants I was prescribed. I will say I have chronic sinus congestion, and the thing that always works well for me is the Zicam Extreme Congestion nasal spray.

Get some of the canned saline stuff and do a full rinse. Head upside down firing that stuff up each nostril until you can taste it. It's miserable for a few minutes but really makes a difference once you blow all that shit out.

Don't fuck around with a sinus infection. A good friend of mine used to work at a brain injury clinic. It was full of lifetime residents that needed round-the-clock care. One patient was there because he let a sinus infection sit untreated. It spread to his brain.

Hoping its just drainage.

Sprayed some afrin in my nose and it came down the back of my throat. Burns now. I HATE taking meds.

Yeah, the neti pot is my friend when I have sinus issues.
Also, another vote for proper (ID & signature required) sudafed.
The OTC decongestant crap that's out there might as well be sugar pills.

Every time I come on here there's a new thread about your illness of the day. Did you ever get your digestive issues sorted out? Or are you dealing with both problems now?

Things seemed to clear up for me. Head feels fine, chest seems clear, and just a tad of drainage from the nose. Probably from the meds. So not going to the doc unless it kicks up again.

Still dealing with digestive tract.

Yep... Its brutal, but effective... Neti pots suck...

Yeah, I don't do anything until my sinuses start to hurt... Facial pressure and pain doesn't necessarily mean a full blown infection. Once your sinus cavity starts to ache, and the color of your snot goes dark yellow or worse, then its time to hit the doc. Usually you can avoid all of that with a couple of rinses per day...

:nee:
Works fine for me, as long as I start it before the sinuses get swollen and the water can't flush them.

Yep. Sinus douche is awesome. Keeps that dark yellow-brown stuff draining.

I used to have issues with sinus infections until my doctor got me to step away from the antibiotics and try Nasacort AQ nasal spray. Now, at the first sign of any nasal or throat irritation (which is usually caused by nasal drainage) I start spraying. It's a very, very fine mist so, it doesn't gag you or drown you like others. Usually, after one day of use my symptoms are gone. Recently, I didn't have any and didn't have the money to go to the Dr. so, I bought the walmart nighttime sinus medication that had doxylamine succinate (Unisom) in it and that helped me sleep and kept the drainage at a minimum at night which is when the most damage occurs.
