That burger looks damn good.
I've only ever seen tumbleweeds like that in movies.. fun to watch.. can't imagine it's very fun driving through it though.

Om nom nom...
Have you been out to Jack Allen's Kitchen yet? Not the same kind of food (greezy delicousness.. which I love too), but it is still pretty freaking awesome.
Rather be in New Orleans for food reasons, but that's what I grew up on. Brisket is Texas' way to my heart though.

I wouldn't say Austin is a place to go out of your way to visit for the food. But what is nice is that when you're here, there's a huge variety of cuisine that's good while also being reasonably priced.

Looks like a damned good reason to paint your entire vehicle with bed liner.
Hmmmm........

I'd rather be where I am, when it comes to food. Authentic Indian, Thai, Chinese, Ethiopian (yes, they actually have a cuisine, though not much food at home these days), or great steak & burgers at 3:00am? Works for me!

If you want a mix of authentic, you aren't going to beat NYC.
Authentic Chinese is disgusting, can't believe anyone would want that garbage. Give me the europeanized any day of the week.
Any major city can give you a wide variety of authentic food though, including New Orleans.
Yeah, everyone knows about Ethiopian food. It was a food fad in the major cities awhile back, hell I think they even joked about it on Seinfeld or some other comedy in the 90s.

My background is Scottish. After haggis, there's nothing about real Chinese food that can scare me. We've also got a tonne (Metric) of authentic Vietnamese restaurants, that could scare a northern Chinese with the ingredient list.

Nothing scares me, I am part Cajun. It's just not appetizing or remotely good. I have no issue with fear factor food. LOL

I rather like Vietnamese tripe soup, actually.

Don't know never really tried it to wear i can say i have had the real stuff, just speaking of Chinese. My parents lived there for several years.
My hometown has a very large Vietnamese population, so I am sure you could find good quality Vietnamese around New Orleans.
They are very big into the shrimping business.

I could go for DQ's Jalito's. Wish they made those in Ohio.

French, Creole, and Vietnamese are pretty much a given down there, I would think. Now what about British pub fare, Scottish, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Iranian.........

Haven't ever looked for Iranian and Scottish, but the others are all safe bets.
