Shame....Had Kate Upton licking her own nipples, as well as most of the highlights of the youtube winners from 2012. The lego Gangham style was funny!

Well it both screwed with the Youtube terms of service and used a bunch of other people's videos, some of which were likely copy-written. It will likely turn up somewhere else.

I don't quite get youtube's copyright policy. A few years ago, I made a riding video with LaGrange and Bad Reputation as the backing tracks. When it uploaded and posted, there was no sound. There was a tag that said "Sound muted due to copyright violation". HOWEVER! at least 75% of the videos on youtube are of copyrighted material!! Apparently, all you have to do is say "Hey! I don't own this stuff. It's somebody elses." and you're just hunkey-dorey! I ended-up using some youtube available music but, it didn't have the drive the original mix had. Annoying bastiches!

It depends on the content. The stuff in my videos is older and performed by artists like the Marine Band, so the copyright is fairly open. All that ends up on my videos is the odd ad, and a 'buy it' tag for the music.

Do a search for any top 40 song out right now and you'll get hundreds of results with either the video itself or static images with the song playing or even images with the lyrics playing. Somehow that's ok as long as you say "Not mine!".

It's more like saying, "It's really his." Attribution license is a Creative Commons thing.
