Well no work today. Crud is blowing down, sideways, and even seems to come straight up from underneath. My poor bikes are in sitting in this crap. Covered of course but theyve always been garage queens. I live in a small town now so lets hope the power doesnt go out cause my whole house is electric. Probably would be could to get a gas line installed just to have a gas heater in the house.

The interstate is shut down so I cant take that route to the big city. LoL. Plenty of back roads though. Visibility is about 1/8-1/4 mile.

Old hunting boots and roller blades. Im all white trashed on the back porch from the move. Threw my moto tires around yesterday to get the rain water out. Theyre nearly covered from the snow. Need to list them on CL to get rid of them since NO bike place will take them. Hell one is basically brand new, just has a nail shape piece of metal in it. Was going on a trip and didnt want to patch it

That aint snow.
Thats frost. That light coating you got is something we would use for traction.
Maybe if you southerners didn't drive with bald summer tires all the time you wouldn't have a problem.

One, you can keep the shitty seasons. Two, their bald because the sun rots them out and they melt to the roads.

Saw that the panhandle may get a foot of snow..
That's definitely a lot, relatively speaking. We got almost 3 feet 2 weeks ago.. that was fun..

If it weren't for the fact my bikes haven't seen the sun in 2 months I'd have a witty comeback.

The wind blows here and it sucks worse than it just raining on you. Especially when the dirt is in the air. I have an oil leak on the vfr and aim sure the dirt has fudged up a seal. Fron just a quick look Im guessing sprocket shaft seal, but will know once I get the cover off. Of course it coule be my valve cover gaskets cause I didnt replace.those when I checked the valve clearances.
Shit is still falling. Would love to have my er-6n converted to a dual sport for this.

Funny, but I don't think that we get a whole lot of snow here. Once in a very long while we get what I would call 'real snow', like I used to see when I was a kid. Here's a shot of a jackknifed truck, from the last real storm we saw. Another one is supposed to hit us tomorrow.

It cracks me up when the yankees make fun of us Southerners because we shut down schools and the like when it snows a little bit. They seem to forget we have something here they've never seen. They're called "hills". We also have something called "mountains"! I know they seem strange and scary to you northerners but, we're used to them and know when to leave them alone so they don't bite us!

We've got hills. No mountains. We do have something that you might be unfamiliar with. It's called 'traffic.'

Not many mountains or even hills in Texas.....cept for the eastern side

We got about a foot of snow (with winds that cause a complete white out) just about every weekend this month. Plus smaller snowfalls in between. A couple of hours north, where my parents live, they got over 2 feet in one of those weekend storms.
...I'm sure you can see how it's tough to feel sorry.

Admittedly not as impressive as the Rockies or the Tetons, but mountains nevertheless.
ETA: Oh, and as for hills.. they don't call central Texas "hill country" for no reason:

Ha...
I live at the top of a hill in an area called lake hills.
My street is a destination for sledders.
We don't have mountains because the elitist NYC snobs said they blocked the view of the ocean and had them removed.

Are you kidding me? Those are like "training bra" bewbs. I'm 20 minutes from the foothills of the blue ridge (full on college tits). Another hour and I'm in the smokies (Sofia "we're gonna need a bigger motorboat" Vergara!). ANYTHING more than a dusting and you'll be doing the Bread and Milk run (http://youtu.be/i6zaVYWLTkU)
But snow isn't the problem. See...here we get more ICE than anything. Think: deals gap covered in ice!

True story
Adirondack Mountains...Catskill Mountains. I did a bunch of geology field camps in upstate NY, and those stinking professors taught me that the glaciers carved all those mountains.
Real true story: Adirondack Park in upstate NY is bigger than Yosemite, Yellowstone, Glacier, Grand Canyon and the Great Smokies National Parks combined.

Did some camping and mountain-biking in the Adirondacks back in 95. We stayed near Old Forge (I think that was the name) nice little tourist trap. Beautiful country!

Not a lot of hills either, a few as you get farther west...
And I'm quite sure that MY idea of "traffic" and yours differ quite a bit, and my idea of traffic pisses me off, so I don't want to deal with yours!
Maybe that's why shit rarely gets shut down in ND?

You would be right about the traffic, but it doesn't take much of a hill to make winter driving interesting. The Credit River Valley runs right up the centre of Toronto. The Don Valley Parkway runs along it and all of the roads that feed it come down from ridges above it. Every seen a cop TV show called "The Bridge"? The bridge of the title is generally shown from along the DVP or Bayview Avenue. It's called the Bloor Viaduct.

When I said "we" I meant those of who reside on the glacier poop (Long Island).
My wife did her geology field camps upstate as well.

Our snomageddon turned into a slushpocalypse. At 11:00pm yesterday I looked out the window and thought that I'd be off from work. Looked out again this morning and saw 4 inches of slush in the parking lot.
