For some reason just today my sound stopped working for anything on the internet. I can still play mp3 files and everything but anytime I try to watch a video on youtube or stream music it doesnt have sound. The vids will play but be silent. Ive tried a few google found suggestions including restore, checking settings, etc and nothing has worked. I use firefox and I even tried it in IE and no sound in either one. Anyone got any suggestions?

No setting in the general sound properties is going to just mute internet... browser settings however...

What browser are you running?

is it just a problem w/ your flash plugin maybe? try uninstalling and reinstalling. Also, i know on a fresh reboot i would not have the problem until i ran certain apps. try a reboot w/ no auxillary programs running (start->run-> type:msconfig -> set it up so no programs start on fresh boot, then restart)

Reinstall your audio drivers.

Reinstall your audio drivers.

drivers wouldnt have anything to do with only internet applications not working...

but its worth a shot. Try www.driveragent.com and run a test to see if your drivers are out of date. if you need i have a username and PW to get the correct downloads if you need them.

also check your security settings.

no, everything's solid with your audio.

Im telling you, do a system restore and then setup msconfig to not run any apps at launch. problem solved.

I tried doing that and it led me to a system restore that did nothing, so I tried another restore after you had mentioned doing it first then changing it and it worked perfect. Good lookin out man, I owe you. That shit was annoying as hell.

If no one on here can get it just google laptop sound help or something similar and itll link to a bunch of tech forums where that was asked. Thats where I got a lot of the suggestions I was trying.

JoJoYZF

The only thing I uninstalled and reinstalled was the flash player and plugin, then somehow after another system restore it works again.

Yeah, I dont ask questions with computers. It either works or I fuck around with things people suggest until they do, never really understood much of it.

I work on them every day... and though they're based on logic... they're the most illogical things I've seen yet... well... except for carrot tophttp://www.aolcdn.com/red_galleries/carrot-top-celeb-400a062807.jpg
