Does anybody have any experience with this bike? I'm thinking of getting one, and I'm just about to pull the trigger. I was just hoping somebody had some real world experience on one.

Same, but no personal experience. Just not a big I-4 fan.

A 40KM test ride. Took one out last summer at a Honda demo ride.
I seem to remember it having a pretty good mid range but nothing to write home about. It handled well and was easy to toss around with the wider bars. The lower gearing made it nice to be able to hammer it through the gears without hitting "Go directly to jail" speeds. Wind protection was pretty much nonexistent and could get annoying at even normal cruising speeds. I'm not really used to that type of seating position any more so my back gets pretty stiff in a hurry. I'm sure that's just something that would go away once I'm used to it though.
My verdict: It's a very nice bike. Certainly on the top of my list as far as Honda's current lineup. I dont think it would suit my needs if it were my only bike though. Finding any one bike to fit that bill is tough. What happened to your Z1000 plan you were recently talking about? That could save you a few pennies and still get you a similar bike.

No, but I like the looks of the red, white and blue bike next to it.

Yeah, I think the new CBR600RR is sweet looking. :rockwoot: Not that I'd ever buy one though.

Just a quick review.
I've put about 100 miles on it so far. It has plenty of power. Much more than I was expecting. Any gear, and above 2500 rpm and it gets going in a hurry.
It handles extremely well. I haven't pushed it by any means, but from what I have experienced its not lacking in any way I can see.
The one thing that has taken some getting used to after the Firebolt is the lack of immediate downlow torque. But, it is giving up 200ccs and has twice many cylinders.
I can't get over how effortless and smooth it is. Ill let you all know more when I get the tach past 7000.

Yeah dude, going from a Buell to anything Japanese is a big difference in smoothness... Lack of vibrations and not needing to smash into each gear takes some getting used to.

This reminded me of sitting behind you and Rob at a red light. Both of you on Buells, me on a Bandit. I felt kinda out of place. Like I should have been jumping and vibrating right along with you

It's what can you expect from the re-tuned 'Blade motor. I've seen a ton of reviews that said the thing is ungodly quick for a naked bike. Too bad the insurance is out of the question for me currently. And that automatically takes it out of the running for me. For reference I pay $58 a month on the Monster through Progressive... they are quoting $390 a month!! A FUCKING MONTH!!! :lol

Like I was saying yesterday, it's nice to be able to leave the bike idling on the side stand without having to chase it across a parking lot.

Looks good. A lot of "new" bikes being bought these days. Hope everyone is getting to enjoy them.

I think I learned more about this bike by chasing it through some twisty roads this past Sunday than by riding one on a shitty demo ride last Summer.
After that, I must say that I like it even more :dthumb:

It works really well until about 85 or 90. I did about an hour at that speed on the highway and it really wore me out.

Yeah, better than mine then. Mine starts getting hectic at about 75. I've been eyeing a 4 inch higher fly screen since I do so much highway. I know it defeats the purpose of a naked bike and blah blah blah. But it mounts to the stock fairing, so it doesn't look out of place...
