I could have sworn I started a review thread of these boots when I bought them in 2010(ish), but since I can't find it, I'm starting one now that I've finally retired them.

Great value for the money. Looks like they currently sell for about $45:

BILT Stormguard Waterproof Motorcycle Boots - $44.97 (http://www.cyclegear.com/BILT-Stormguard-Waterproof-Motorcycle-Boots?mr:trackingCode=6F5DF9DE-CDDB-E311-8BFD-90E2BA028069&mr:referralID=NA&mr:device=c&mr:adType=plaonline&mr:ad=51808845257&mr:keyword=&mr:match=&mr:filter=18283950120&gclid=CLjnzu2enMQCFWVp7AodHlsADw)

I'm pretty sure I paid less than $40 (and fully expected them to disintegrate within a few months). They lasted four/five years and performed as good as or better than some Alpinestars, Tourmasters, etc brands for which I paid upwards of $200.

They were incredibly uncomfortable while breaking in, but once the material softened they made pretty decent walking shoes. The weatherproofing didn't prove as durable as some more expensive brands, but the stitching/glue in the body of the boots held up very well. It wasn't until the soles started to fall apart that I finally decided to replace them:

Thumbs-up if you want new gear on an extremely tight budget. I would have considered another pair for replacement had I not found a half-off deal on some Alpinestars Alpha Touring boots.

I've wondered about some of that stuff... I get the flyers for Cycle Gear that are flooded with Bilt stuff...

Experiment. The stuff is so cheap, you really aren't out much even if it does immediately start to fall apart.

I'm pretty particular about helmets-- I've worn nothing but Scorpions since 2005-- but I would try another pair of Bilt boots/gloves/etc.

If that something falls apart in your first wreck, then what? Spend the money for brand name shit. What racers where Bilt/Sedichi gear? Oh.

Then they served their purpose! I'd go and buy another pair for the price.. unless they didn't quite hold up DURING the crash.
