I haven't been posting much lately. Many of you that know me know that I've got a lot going on. One of those things is that I'm running for City Council of my hometown.
Here's the format. There are 5 council slots. We are elected at large. Each voter chooses 5, and the 5 who get the most votes get in.
By law, if there are more than 10 candidates, the top 10 get into a runoff. We had 17 run this time. The runoff is Tuesday, October 7th
Here are the result (btw, I'm Chitwood)

Something like that
Really, they set policy for the town. Set the budget (which is the most important part) All the city department heads report to the council (street, fire, police, sanitation, etc)

Awesome! Good Luck!
I know City Counsel as a stepping stone to a larger political dream. Do you have other goals? Or, is it just to serve your current community?
I say *just* like it isn't noble. I think it's fantastic, and a job that doesn't get a pat on the back very often - in fact, usually the opposite.

:idk: Just taking it one step at a time. I'd like to contribute to my community for now. Who knows?
