View Full Version : My buddy just got rid of his sport bike recently

Sooo after a while of him debating this in his head my buddy decided to trade his ZX-10 in for a cruiser. He said "Yeah man, I'm selling the 10, it's only a matter of time, plus I need to cut this stunt shit out and grow up." So when he got rid of it I told him you will miss the 10 and the cruiser wont satisfy your riding needs and you will get another sport bike. I also told him its not the bike thats going to cause you to lose your license and that he will do stupid shit on a cruiser that will put the license in jeopardy as well.

This is what it looked like right before he traded it in

Heres is the reason why he got rid of it.... Lack of self control

Heres the new bike 08 Victory I think its a "Low Blow Arlen Ness Edition" Factory Custom billet wheels with a 260 out back, 6 speed, Factory HID kit, upgraded Swoop style pipes. Gorgeous bike

I'm surprised he can get the beast up like that though. shoulda stuck with the japanese bikes.

how many of them are bone stock from the showroom floor though.... the kid knows how to ride there is no doubt about that. I have seen a lot of people try stunting and you look at them and say man is that guy out of control. But when you watch him he appears to have total control and knows what he is doing.

I have to agree.

I test rode a Victory Vegas Jackpost and would like to own one PLUS my R1 but not in place of it.

The guy is good BUT...oh well...it's already been posted.

They seem to do a good job and it felt good riding it.

I also road a Yamaha Raider and it also felt good too...I was actually surprised.

I used to own a BigDog and liked it alot but for the $$...the Victory is hard to beat imho...for an American bike.

getting a twin up isnt as hard as youd think..especially with gobs of tq.

i do find it funny how 99% of the people preach everytime someone is stunting a bike. what makes it any better speeding and tipping your bike over and dragging knee? lots of pics of the people dragging knee on this forum are on public roads. so you have full gear on and thats ok? what about innocent bystanders driving by? seems a little hypocritical. so since you cant/not your thing to do wheelies or stunt those people are idiots?

I have to give you that playing on public roads is dumb and I have been dumb lots of times. Stunting on a public road seems ( I say seems because I am not a stunters) seems a bit dumber because you are giving aways hlf of your control surfaces the moment either wheel leaves the ground. Here in NH we just had a guy riding with out a helmet (optional here) Do an "Indian Larry" where he stood up on the seat of his HD (thus giving up all control of the machine) only to have the bike veer off the road turning him into a bi-pedal house plant. Then one of his riding buddys appears on camera syaing I'm kinda supriosed I had seen him do this a couple of other times and it went well. Duh!!

ppl that drag knee on public streets are idiots too, so are the street racers, and pretty much anyone who breaks the law. so thats all of us.

I agree selling the 10 for a Victory is just Dumb even if he Didnt Stunt It.

As far as Draggin Knee/Street Racing/Stunting on the Street...I feel there is the right time and place...because no matter what that Shits gonna happen...Some people get aa big adrenaline rush off that shit...I LOVE to crack the throttle and open it up to 100+ on the highway...Do I do that in Rush hour traffic?? No.

The argument will go on forever...and noone will ever win

Ive seen a bone stock 883 get wheelied, Ive seen a bone stock shaddow 1100 get wheelied(Honda), both good friends of mine. Those werent kept up for too long, ballance point a lil harder to find, how ever the shadow was 12 o clocked a few times. At a local stunt spot yesterday watchin a young kid on a sportster 1200 pullin the front up in 1st holding deep into 2nd gear. Main mod he done was some mild ape hangers(Think about it, it does help him).

Im not taking away from your boy at all in this post, it does take some skill. What I am doing is pointing out some of my boys with skills. The thing the have in common is that they were all nasty at wheelies on sport bikes. Its not the bike so much as the rider. Look at "fiddy" stunting.

BTW that victory is a Trque monster Im sure. Its 100ci motor isnt it? That much power down low and standing on the seat... I wont be suprised when I read the post about him looping it.

that victory basically is a modded big cube twin, and it weighs less than a full dresser. throwin a bone stock full dresser up on one is nothin new, its been done, without standing on the seat.

It's funny to me for a bunch of reasons, but mainly that the last time I rode with you was like 2 months after the first time I sat on a bike in my life, over a year ago (there may be a reason, too ;)). Since then I have done 10 track days and bumped two groups, and have four more this year.

I don't have an enormous ego at all... actually I am slow as shit on the track and can't wait to start racing and get better. However, for you to think you can gauge riding ability from that long ago, not to mention in a street riding situation, and then compare me to some douche wheelieing in a tshirt is just laughable. You have no idea what you're talking about.

You're right... there are plenty of riders out there with tons more skills than me...
