Hi, my name is OSP and I am an alcoholic.

I spent nearly $200 at the bar last night... bought shots for a couple girls who I was hanging with, but the rest was mine. I woke up fully clothed, shoes still on, right on my tile floor. Apprently I had the wherewithall to grab a roll of paper towels (new, with the plastic still on) to use as a pillow. The last thing I remember was being physically removed from a pizza joint cause I called some girl a retarded cunt... My buddy says I had a great time though.

Damn man. Sounds like a blast. Last night I didn't drink, but the night before was bad. A group of 4 of us guys who are best friends are hanging out at a couple of girls house drinking before we go to a big party. Me and my friend have 2/3 of a handle of whiskey left over from the night before. (BTW, I am normally a beer drinker. It gives you a warning before you are fucked.) Well we are gettin ready to go to the big party and my friend and I don't feel shit yet after like 6 whiskey and cokes, so shots here we come. Don't really know how many shots we had, but the handle got finished. I remember getting into the car mostly sober, then blacked out sometime before we got to the party.

WOW!!! I've never been a drinker and haven't drunk any alcohol for many, many years so I've never understood the attraction of getting that fucked up. That being said,I think that as long as you're paying your bills and taking care of your responsibilities, you are ok. I will say one thing tho',you've often said that you can't afford/justify such and such bike. I bet you could get two with the money you spend on alcohol a month.

I only drink at home/friend's houses. Therefore I get the same amount of alcohol for 15 bucks instead of 150.

I also was told I had a good time last night. Fukkin Jimmy Buffett and his concert. I violated the first rule of drunkdome. Mixed beer/liquor and wine.

I must disagree with the first half of that statement. My mom truly is an alcoholic. She pays her bills and takes care of her responsibilities. She's not ok. She has started having serious medical issues due to the constant drinking. She drinks every night as soon as she gets home from work and drinks till she passes out. She gets up and goes to work in the morning, usually after puking a few times. She does fine at work and doesn't drink anything during the day, but the instant she walks in the door, she pours a drink.

We've all tried to talk to her and get her to stop, but she hasn't. Oh, she's tried a couple times, but then would think she could have one drink. She can't. We think she may have just gotten the wake up call she needed, as her doctor says she has an issue with her pancreas. She will be going into detox soon and we all hope she will be ok if she stops drinking. It's too early to tell.

As for the second half of your statement, I would agree. I don't even want to know how much my mom spends on alcohol, but she goes through nearly a pint of gin a night and I know that can't be cheap. She's always bitching about not having enough money. I hope that not drinking will help her both physically and financially.

I'm just glad I don't have the bug.

First,I'm sorry to hear about you're Mom and I hope that she'll be ok! Second, I'm one of those weird,"do it as long as it doesn't harm others" guys. Now,I understand that the people close to an alcoholic are affected (both of my parents and most of my family were/are alcoholics) but the same can be said of smokers, pot heads, sport bike riders, sky divers, etc. Anything that we do,that can harm us,could affect our loved ones. Some people love alcohol and can't be happy without it. We're all basically killing ourselves in one way or another....

booze ruins the brain after a while. most the people i see on the psych floor are there because of years of alchoholism. box of wine a day, bottle of scotch a day, etc etc.

It all has to do with happyness. Some need medication, Some self medicate. If your finding happness in getting smashed admit your problems and deal with them. Or just get shitty and call it good. Either way your cool with me.

If I have something to do or not enough money, I wont drink. Like I already said, I only drink at houses, not expensive ass bars. I normally only drink on nights when a bunch of friends are all bored and lookin for something to do. When you just buy a case, its normally cheaper than most things that you could do otherwise.

Wait, are you even 21? So unless you have a fake id, you cant drink at bars regularly anyway. Granted I used to sneak into bars sometimes but that gets to be a big pain in the ass.

I'm 28 and still prefer houses over bars. But every now and then you gotta go to a bar to hang out and party, like I did last night. This place had half-yards (32oz) made of glass. Had 3 Alaskan IPAs in like two hours and I was good to go. They were $12.50 each but I had the cash. My wife took pics of me under our bed, I don't remember that shit either.

Damn OSP, that's a hell of a lot on booze. I can get really good beer (8% alcohol) for $8 pitcher. So after about 3 or 4 of those I'm pretty fucked up for under $40. Shit even if I'm drinking liquor, 5 long islands get me pretty blasted and that's about $40 as well.

friends of a friend, sort of. but they are friggin mooches, i cant stand when people get in line for a round of shots but never pony up for their own brew.

i dont mind sharing beer with people who are gonna get the next pitcher, hell i prefer it that way, but the guys whom just show up and start fucking drinking my beer and then show up the next round with a bottle or pint for themselves, is bad bar etiquette.

It's really not that hard when you go downtown to the big bars... I don't remember what all I drank, but I know I switched from double 7&7's to double Cape Cods after my 10th one... I think the 7&7's were like $9 each... not sure what the CC's were... I bought four Lemon Drops (two for each girl) and three shots of Patron for myself... Those were at least another $50...

Apparently the fact that my buddy and fiance broke up and he likes to get hammered a couple days a week has my tolerance back up to mid-college levels...

I've hit 3 Digits in a Night Easy...But as stated I HATE when I buy a round and then everyone wants more and there like "arent you gonna pay again" as I just spent like 80 Dollars on Shots.

I remeber on Fat Tuesday this year i went out with some buddies and there were a few girls tagging alond...I think it was 11 shots it was like 75 dollars alone just for them...Then Beers for myself and a few more Shots for me and one or two more people...I think I dropped close to 300 that night. I did see some magnificent Breasts on stage though...Gotta love Mardi gras!
