Needing a new lid, cyclegear has 10% off right now which is about best I can find for the x-11.
Is the x-11 really $200 better then the rf? Fit was great, and read great reviews but thought I would ask here.
thnx
I've had both, I currently have the X11 now. The RF fit me good when it was new but when it got broke in, it was a little too big, so I figured I'd try to find a X11 for cheap in a size medium. I lucked out and found one on Ebay for $480, used but in excellent condition. I posted up on the WERA forums if anybody could get them cheap and the cheapest I found new was around $530 or so. Not too bad for a Kagayama replica.
The vents do work a bit better and at high speeds the helmet is stable as fuck, like when I come out a tuck from a straightaway to brake. Aren't they made of different materials though?

If i remember correctly, the X-11 and RF-1000 fit different head shapes.
could be wrong though.

or
Tamada

or the white one

I like all of them honestly. My wife prefers the Vermeulen, but they don't have it or the Tamada in stock so I can't see it side by side.
X-11 and RF1000s are two different head shapes, if you fit one you shouldn't wear the other if you are looking for max protection, if you want to find a helmet that fits your head correctly, you need to take a trip with me to meet the god of helmet fitting.

Exactly what I ran into. I wanted a rf1000 caster but it didnt fit. My x11 kagayama is perfect. And the best I found brand new was about $495 which the rep on the old twf said was around cost.

The x11 is kind of loud too, but the venting is damn good. Its a trade off in my eyes.

RF1000 & earplug wearer here, too. I have a huge melon, the RF is about all I could find that fit me right. With the right earplugs, it's almost as quiet as being in my cage.

You know what? I have never worn earplugs at the track or on the street. Never.

Those two helmets fit differently. The RF-1000 has a rounder fit than the X-11, and it also doesn't go down as low over the chin.
