I'm new to the board, met several of you at Deals Gap (picnic tables) Thursday (David with Killboy) on your way to Indy....

Hope you all had a nice time, wish I could have been there but I needed to cover the gap for Darryl / Lori while they were at Indy ...

Thanks to Katherine / Rae for the pics (now in my avatar) :)

David :)

Glad to be here ... I'm usually not a big forum person but I figured I'd check this one out ... Seems like some really nice people here :)

Friday was pretty slow, but Saturday was pretty busy ... Sunday I rode my bike (230L) to shoot for a couple hours and then get in a couple runs before it rained ...

Thanks Colleen ...

I've been a partner with Darryl (Killboy) since 2004, shooting (mostly), as well as a lot of behind-the-scenes software which helps with the process...

Probably about 1/3 of the pics you see on Killboy (highlights and the store) are my shots ...

Darryl/Lori handle choosing the highlights pics, but I do have a little influence :)

HI DAVID!

I'm so glad you joined. It was a really great afternoon hanging out there with you. I can't believe you get to do that for a living.

By the way, nice avatar.

Hi Katherine!

You guys really made my day up there too ... as somebody in the group said, it doesn't get much better than this! :)

Although I often have people stop / hang out, there are many days when it's just me, my ipod, and my music ....

Now that the weather is cooling off some, I'll be riding my bike(s) to shoot more often, and get to play a little before / after work... I'm looking forward to the next week or so of cooler temps ...

Thanks for the compliment on my Avatar ... I have a vague :) recollection of two very sweet sportbikegurls that were there and gave me wonderful hugs! One of them was nice enough to email me the pic I used in my avatar :)

Can't wait to see some of your Indy pics!

We generally use Canon 40Ds as our primary cameras, with 30Ds as backup.

We mostly shoot with Canon 70-200 F2.8 L zoom telephoto lenses, tho I have a 70-200 F4 L (lighter weight), and a Canon 28-300 IS L that I sometimes use...

Hi PhiSig, thanks for the welcome ... I've been with Killboy since 2004, and it is a pretty awesome job most of the time!

Downsides are weather, bugs, *heat*, and watching all your friends riding / having fun while you're stuck shooting.

Last couple months have been too hot to ride to shoot (I wear a Black aerostich 2-piece roadcrafter, planning on getting a cooler color / design for July/August next year) ... I enjoy my car, but I'm a motorcyclist at heart :)

Hi itgirl ... where is Hanover PA? I have family from Mansfield, PA ... I'm too lazy right now to look for it on google maps :)

I grew up in Corning, NY, then moved to Rochester, NY to go to school at RIT (computer engineering).

Co-oped at Xerox, spent some time at Kodak, then bought my first 128K Mac in 1984 ... Been hooked ever since, tho I did have to go a few years without one while working in the audiotext (900 number voice personals) industry...

I can appreciate that, I am a ridercoach, and teaching in long pants, boots and long sleeve shirts in 100 degree temps can get a little old.

Thanks NTS ... I probably did see you in June (I was shooting), but I'm not very good with remembering people's names with all the people I meet ...

Seems like a lot of really nice folks here, so I'm trying to make time to visit regularly ... Appreciate your support of killboy!

Hey man... good to see ya up here... we didn't talk much but I was the odd one with Trip and the two girls... the guy with the AK license plate.

I'll be ordering some photos from you guys soon... first trip through the gap and all...

look forward to seeing ya on here more... I'm slowly getting into photography as a hobby... but I'm pretty horrible but get lucky sometimes.
