I was talking to the sales person there at the bike show and she told me to come back and demo it when the weather gets better. :rockout:

How did it feel (ergo-wise) compared to the 1098?

I have never sat on the 1098, but they are supposed to be identical.

Yup, ergo's are identical between the 1098 and the 848. So basically, it's going to be quite uncomfortable on the street.

It wasnt any worse than a GSXR 1K or an R1.

I haven't sat on them side by side to compare. But from what I remember sitting on the 1098 at bike week last year, it was pretty uncomfortable. It was an extreme riding position to say the least.

I know a few people on different forums that have gotten rid of their 1098 due to the ergo's. I have a R1, and the riding position isn't that bad at all. To me, it's probably the most comfortable of all the liter bikes out there. I'm 6ft and about 270.

BUT... yours is much more comfy than the NEW ones.

I sat on an 08 R1 and it really wasnt a lot different than the 848. Actually the Buell 1125R and the 08 GSXR1K all felt really close. Even the 08 CBR600RR was similar. Of all of those, the only one I didnt like was the 1125R and that was because my toe hit the engine case when my foot was on the rear brake.

I meant that the '05 R1 is more comfy/nicer ergos than the '08 R1.

Actually, one of the most comfy sportbikes around. Less aggressive than some of the I-4 liters I've owned.

that's the only prob i've heard about the 1125... access to the rear brake, which is not THAT important to track riding, but a lil more so on normal street riding.

I've also heard that the ergos are a bit better than a typical liter bike... just sitting on it in the show room is hard to tell...

hopefully get a better feel for it soon!!

The 1098 ergo's are nothing to cheer about at slow speed or in a straight line. On the track, it's a completely different story!

Saw one of these at the track yesterday...
Sweet looking bike!

Look who made it. Sup, man?

For those who don't know, CW has a 1098 track bike...as well as a 600RR tracked out.

Yeah, I was going to post something on 702 about this place. Not too shabby!

Danny needs to bring his ass over here, considering this is an 848 topic and he has an 848. Did he ride that this weekend or the R6?

He rode the R6. I bet his 848 has less than 200 miles on it.

What a vagina! I bought the damn thing to ride it. Looks like his is headed toward becoming a garage/Starbucks queen...

I will say this: riding a big twin is nothing like riding a I4 600! That's why I'm selling the Honda at the end of the season. No matter how much fun I have on the 600RR, I'm always thinking about the 1098...

He rips it up on his R6. I thik the R6 will be his track beast and the 848 will be his street bike. You never know though. I think he just has to get use to it.

If my bike was brand new, I wouldn't bring it to the track. I'm a firm believer in the break-in period's RPM suggestions from the manufacturer. That's just me.

Yeah, after doing one, I don't think the track day is the best break in period... I don't think i was ever BELOW 6K
