I used spray paint on everything from track skinz to frames and pegs. Its a quick easy cosmetic fix or in your case. Good experiment on color.

No way is that going to last very long.... I would suggest getting some of that engine paint that has little ceramic bits in it.

Strip all the paint you just put on there off and rough the surface up a bit... then apply the engine paint... then give it a once over with a heat gun to cure it.

PRESTO... DIY powdercoating for short dollars.

You can get wrinkle paint now. Its almost as tuff as spray-in bed liner. Just hold the can way back (10 to 15in) Last long time and way cheaper than PC

troof, this guy knows his stuff. :dthumb: Was talking to a gold wing buddy of mine a few weeks ago, he did this on some lower pieces of his bike like 2 years go, matches great and looks factory! Saw it in person and I must say, I'd do this if I wanted something along those lines!

That was my first idea that rhino lining stuff or something similar to it would have been perfect. Ill see about picking up some of that wrinkle stuff.

that's fine if you don't want a glossy finish... the "wrinkle" spray paint... rhino liner and all those are nice and glossy black for a while... but soon turn to a dull black (even a bit greyish) just fyi I've done this to the bed of 2 trucks, bumpers... and even the entire body of a 87 Bronco...
