I'm looking for a trackbike, preferably a retired race-bike, something that has some decent suspension work already done. I am looking for a V-Twin, first choice would be an air cooled Ducati, 1000SS or DS, but open to interesting bikes, SV1000, RC51 etc. Wish I could say it's for me, but my boss wants to get into trackdays and doesn't want to ride his 1098S on the track yet.

If you have anything or know of anything let me know.

Superbikeplanet has retired race bikes for sale. You can buy Josh Hayes 2006 formula xtreme machine.

Gunther, yeah, right, a 500cc 2-smoker? That is pretty much the exact opposite of a 1000cc V-Twin. He wants torque.

Already went through the WERA board and PM'd a few people, Superbike Planet doesn;t really have anything.

:idk: some have the balls , some don't... But I'm sure he can afford a fun bike like that.

Ok, If torque you need and don't want to deal with anal slipage try this one...

I'm sure he can, and I'd love that thing, but 2-strokes have very little torque, he's never had anything but twins, with the exception of a ZX12, so he wants a torque motor.

Not what I'm looking for, it's a sweet bike, and I would love to have one, but he wouldn't like it.

He's looking for an inexpensive way to get back onto the track (he used to race back in the day). Ideally I'd like to findsomething that is mass-produced and raced, so there's a good market for the bike and the parts. The Super-mono's are one-offs right now, so they're pricey, and a lot of work to build. He's looking for a turn-key track hack.

Thanks for the heads up on the Ducati Board, I'll take a look at it.

Edit: Yeah, what I figured, it's mostly street bikes. Thanks anyway!

It sounds like he's just trying to get back in the track game, but there's not too many better bikes than a 1098S. Some people just have more money than sense.

Truth. Here's the wera site where I found my bike (http://forums.13x.com/forumdisplay.php?f=48). Lots of track bikes for sale with trackminded mods.

Here's the one you should buy. (http://forums.13x.com/showthread.php?t=190825&highlight=gsxr+1000) A track-friendly 235 hp, stretched turbo gsxr-1000.
