I think this has been discussed on 'net forums around the uS but this is the official. At $5500 I am there, beats the hell out of a budget Ninja 250 track bike!

They had three of them out at Femmoto - and two out at the Aprilia even at my track the Thursday following. Twitchy little buggers... but fun as hell. They are TINY, almost too flickable. That just makes you a bit careful the first lap or so until you figure out you just keep the throttle pegged HIGH in the revs and go knee to knee on the ground - you'll be fine if you just stay with that formula

Why do they call it a track only bike, but fit it with lights and license plate holder?

Because they're street legal in Europe. I doubt that's actually a picture of the one that will be brought here, I imagine that will be fitted with track plastics.

Could be wrong though :idk:

The RS 250's were really good handling but a little down on power. I raced against some in teh lightweight twins class on my SV650. There were some black market support parts for them, a 350cc kit, some other stuff that made them pretty hard to deal with on track. Sure the Honda and Yam TZ250's would dust us both both they were alot of fun just overpriced.

This one however looks like it could beat out the Ninja 250 or used 600 as far as a track day toy. Which I need liek a hole in the head. And what Azoom said, full throttle pinned hi in the rpm range and flicking knee to knee, who needs more than that?

All the demo's were just like the picture - lights and plates :idk:

It makes you giggle while riding it though...

Two stroke. Most likely not emissions friendly/legal.

Which would be legal overseas but not here.

My guess, just ship the same bike and not lose more of a potential profit having to make the same bike in track plastics.

Weird.

Probably cheaper than making them track specific, plus then they can make money off the track plastics.

still oughtta be able to register it but you'd have to walk through the same loopholes you would a grey market bike

well ive been thinking, assuming i payed cash and got the title up front, walking it through registration ought to be a snap what with our very bored government workers. And then inspection i can get done at the local shop and all they care about is good rubber and working lights/horn. assuming that didnt work however i could try re-titling it as a custom built bike and go from there. Really tempting thoughts
