He was the fastest rider during testing on Sunday, too.

Hey where are you getting that? I was looking everywhere but couldn't find testing data.

Spies is going to kick so much ass next year and I think Yamaha will want him on the MotoGP squad eventually. Suzuki and Honda are really going to be kicking themselves they didn't pick him up. Specially HRC.

The only threat he will have is Nori Haga, who has experience on the Duc, will have the best team, but also likes to throw himself down the track from time to time due to being so damned Japanese, Uupp, I mean aggressive!

first time on track, first time on bike, first time on Pirellis, a few tenths off race winning pace.

will this be more interesting than Nicky on the Duc?

Does anybody have a pic or know where to find a pic of the '09 R1 in track attire?

Nevermind, found it. Ugly.

Yea,lord knows that Yamaha doesn't have a chance in MotoGp unless Ben Spies comes on board...

thats why i was saying a one two punch, we know that one cury haired guy can sometimes ride a two wheeled vehicle at a resonable sane rate and sometimes win a race or two here and there....

ROSSI FTMFW

Nope they didn't have room to run a 3rd bike and Ver Molen and Capirossi had extended contracts...HRC let Pedrosa's spanish butt buddy Puig talk them out of an American, Yamaha and Duc rides were full up.

Interestingly enough the Suzuk WSBK squad was interested but decided against Spies as he asked for a ton of money...

Maybe thats what I was thinking about. I willing to bet they will regret that decision in the end.

yamaha camp is pretty happy to have him

wonder if suzuki will be kicking themselvs in the ass in a few years when (assuming he does goto gp) yammie has two good rides and suzie has none... then again how much longer will rossi be riding, maybe when rossi is ready to retire spies will step up and take control of the riegns

Ok I know you guys hate me on this subject but...YOU'RE ALL DREAMING!!! I doubt that any American is ever going to "dominate" Moto Gp ever again unless we start bringing some younger kids into the 125s. By the time Pedrosa,Rossi, Lorenzo,Stoner, etc joined the MotoGp class, they had been riding those tracks for years and were used to the pace, travel and everything else that comes from that lifestyle. In recent memory, the only two Americans to win a MotoGp championship did so in a "everyone else had a fucked up season" sort of way. When KRjr won,I'm not sure he even won more than 2 races, he just dnf'd less than the other guys. Now don't get me wrong,I'd LOVE to see an American:pat: dominate MotoGp but after Hopkins,Edwards,Hayden, etc I'm losing hope!

Btw I do have some hope in the future if KTM and Red Bull keep up their starter program but I'm afraid it might not make it after that kid died this season....
