Noone here blames the previous owners...we hate that it happened and aren't really fond of the company that bought it. They did ask for help, but I personally never saw anything about the sale until it was past tense...we also had a moderator who made a calendar to raise funds...it wasn't enough. Many sent donations to the site, others bought things from them to help. They were overwhelmed. I can't blame them for selling, but I wish it had been by a smaller entity who didn't have a rep for ruining boards. This community really WAS like a perfectly normal dysfunctional family :lol:. They did what they had to do, and I think any one of us would have done the same if faced with losing everything. It just makes me sick to my stomach that the legal system has allowed this to drag out to this end. Not because of the board, but because he ruined good folks' livelihood and won't man up and pay his dues. The guy was DRUNK that hit them...GUILTY ALREADY! Yet the admins are the ones who paid the price...too bad torture is illegal, cuz I could think of a million things that drunk deserves...

Sorry...I've got a real sore spot when it comes to drunk drivers.

I ran the servers, secured the boxen, managed the backups, and optimized software, etc ......I'm not sure WHAT I do anymore .....I still have a title, can still access the adminCP but I more or less feel displaced....I spent MANY long days and longer nights troubleshooting shit, optimizing shit, recompiling software, etc.... to make CF run on hardware that most folks would consider 'sub-standard' at best (at least for what we were asking it to do)....And I enjoyed every minute of it :) The new folks brought their own people in to do what I did, so I'm considering myself 'homeless' ...

As far as 'sold out' ....I'll tread lightly on this subject as it's sore on both sides, but I can say this...the Previous owner could have made a shitload more if he'd 'sold out' a year ago when they offered instead of telling them to piss off .......holding out cost him ALOT of scratch, but it was a last resort, not a first...:( (yes, I'm fairly close to the situation as I'm good friends with Rez and his wife.....hell, he was my best man @ my wedding years ago)
