So I was wondering about the rally since the site went down. I'm still on for Suches Ga on the weekend of 9 & 10 May of 09. No word yet on Holiday Inn specials, I'm working on it. Does anyone still plan on going other than me? TWFers are more than welcome.

I'm still planning on trying to make the ride, but I'm not going to make a reservation, I'm just gonna show up and ask whos room I can sleep in. If no one answers I'll bring my tent

the rally is more fun then it legally should be, mostly cause the laws are typically broken on the trip...

speed limit? what the hell is that?!

I'd still like to actually meet a lot of you.

I spend a lot of time in GA so if it's around a time when I'm there I'll try to make it.

Hmmm... We're actually talking about planning a Gap trip the week after that, but I wonder if I could get everyone to move it up a week, and do the Rally South on the way up... *hmm*

Trip, what about putting this in another sub-forum where more folks will see it, where do y'all get the most traffic, off topic or what? Maybe sticky it there and maybe we can have a good turnout.

Just my $.02 :idk:

Mr Lefty
11-11-2008, 08:28 PM
most of us just use the "new posts" button... no one here just sticks to a certain sub forum...

don't worry we'll all see it as long as it stays in the "new posts"

Thats how I operate. It usually takes me a minute to go through sub-forums when I go to start a thread since I never use them.

Cool, whatever works for y'all. I just tend to hit certain subforums on most sites cause I usually don't have time to read them all (you'll see with these CF :pwhore2:'s :D

It would be good to have a big turnout and meet a lot a new folks. Y'all are a good bunch, especially putting up with the invasion.

This is all the info so far. We're working on getting a group rate at a hotel nearby. Amorok is spearheading this and will post info as we get it I'm sure.

I can't commit to anything just yet, but Suches & the Gap is on m list of trips to take this year, except I was going to do both during the same week. Now I have a choice of two rallies at two different times! Decisions, decisions, decisions......

Not sure yet if I can make it.. I need to find my schedule that says when I have drill in May, because I'm fairly certain they won't let me miss it (given that it's the month before we're scheduled to mobilize). I know Tracy and I would most definitely LIKE to come! :dthumb:

I have a wedding to go to in may just need to see when that is. I may hook up with derf and take the semi scenic route down so we can earn iron butt patches, and another friend from the NY forum on CF may join us.

Also we will need to set up links for the NE rally in PA. Maybe disco stu can come down and we can have a blanket party

It's not like they're only 2 hours apart, if that. You can do a half day trip from either location to the other

The last date that I heard was May 9th and 10th. I know they didn't want to do the last weekend in May because of Memorial Day weekend traffic, but if there was a reason for choosing that particular weekend, I don't remember what it was. Maybe Amorok remembers and will fill you in.

The other side of the world... It's really about an 1 to 1 1/2 hours west on 24 depending on what part of the 'Boro you're in. My daughter (middle child) goes to MTSU and works at Demos' there, so I'm there quite a bit.

Sorry, I'm still learning my way around and didn't see where this thread ended up. I picked 9-10 May due to general consensus and it seemed to meet everyone's needs. I called Holiday Inn to find out about reserving a block of rooms in Blairsville, they should get back to me by tomorrow and I'll work it out, I expect to have a tentative group rate by tomorrow. Once I have that I'll ask people to confirm if they're coming on both sites, then get the final total, post it, then reserve a block of rooms. Sound good?
