I am over at my aunts trying to help her finish going through the stuff from my mom's funeral (it will be 3 weeks Wednesday). I ran across a card that came with one of the plant arrangements. It said it was from Cycleforums. I don't know who sent them, etc, but whomever did, we sincerely thank you for them & the thought. :) I apologize for not seeing it & giving thanks for it sooner.

aw........man, i am sorry for your loss :(
Thank you. :) We gave her a biker send off since she was always proud of me for riding my own ride. It was a small group & we led the procession....I never left her side the last few days she was alive. I talked to her & held her hand as she passed. I promised her she wouldn't be alone & I kept that promise. It's the hardest promise I ever made.
I thought you knew? It was posted on CF & myspace...
sorry for your loss. shits gotta be tough

Thanks, Lee & Particle. And thank you, Particle, for the texts when I needed someone to talk to. :)
I've been doing good. I finally got my stuff moved...a move that had been put on hold because Mama was ill. I'm just trying to put my life back together. It's going really slow but I'm getting there. :)

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. Even though each person's pain is different even though they may lose the same parent and someone else, I feel your pain. Thanksgiving Day will be one year since my mom passed. It's tough Rogue, but with each day comes more strength. Keep her close to your heart and the memories alive and I promise, it will get easier.

How are the kids doing?
So far they're doing ok. They had alot thrown on their plate too. Their nana passing, moving, changing schools....they seem to be adjusting ok, but they've been with their dad the last week & a half too.
As for me, I'm working some desperately needed OT due to losing my second job & missing work while Mama was so sick. Plus unpacking. I hope to have most of it done by Sunday so I can look for 2nd job. Christmas is coming soon & I want my kids to have a good Christmas this year to make up for last year's. Plus get some stuff paid up & off. And extra money. I have big plans for next year that involve another bike & 3 road trips! :D,

Wow...Sounds like your a Rock...Indeed it has to be said as I think I speak for ALL of TWFix when I say I'm sorry to hear about your Loss. I'm fortunate enough to have both of my parents alive and well...But I've lost my Grandfather who I was VERY close to...It's been about 2 years and I still think about him everyday.
But You seem to have a good head on your shoulders and also very ambitious...3 Road trips...where to??

Losing a parent is hard. I lost my dad 20 years ago when I was in my teens. But I was very close to him, moreso than what I was to my mom. We didn't have the best of relationships but I still love her. Before she passed we were able to reconcile alot of issues, which made her passing easier to handle, I think.
I'm not ambitious, just stubborn, hardheaded, & very independent. Plus I'm alwas looking a reason to ride!
I have a short weekend trip to New Orleans in the spring. I'm riding there with a couple of friends. Late spring is supposed to see me close to the Gap (first time to go!) at what *was* going to be a southern CF Rally, but I don't know if the Rally is still going to happen (the rally was going to be elsewhere, then I was heading to the Gap). Regardless, I still want to go. Later in the summer I'm trying to make a trip to Austin, Tx to see some friends there. I had been making that trip once a year it seems, but couldn't go this year. Austinites are good people with some damn good roads. :D It's a short trip too, only about 1,000 mile round trip. And a friend of mine is trying to talk me into a trip to Arkansas to ride the mountains...we'll see.
Austin is the fartherest I've ridden so riding to the Gap is going to be a big deal for me. I'm keeping my fingers crossed I'll be able to make them all, but if not I'll be happy with doing one or two. :)

It beats the hell out of all the commuting I do, which is about all the riding I get to do....and I live about 5 minutes from work. I get maybe a couple of 200-250 mile rides in a month.
