You must be thinking of MV. Besides, what really matters is where HQ is - in the current global economy, shareholders tend to invest around the world. H-D doesn't make MV an American motorcycle company any more than Vanguard buying huge positions in Honda Motor Co. makes them an American Co.

Correct. Ducati used to be American owned (Texas Pacific Group), but this is no longer the case.

I've never seen him ride it... only seen him once actually (little asian guy on a Duc... I thought it was sorta ironic)... Anyway, I see that bike sitting in a parking space most of the time... covered at least 3/4 of the time... and sometimes it's not there... :idk: Looks good though.

I wasn't all that impressed with the one I rode, It really needed more power. That's not to say it does or doesn't compare to like bikes in power, just that on the roads I rode it on, it needed more power. iirc I rode a 450, so a 550 could be better.

There's a Roland Sands-modified Tuono too that the stunta dude Britton rides now and then. Not bad of a custom job on the Tuono (it's still functional unlike that poor Duckie), but the color sucks. Italian bikes shouldn't be wearing paint jobs that look like American hotrods.

Used to have a 2nd gen RSVR and liked it, but I sold it because I didn't like the shape of the fuel tank (the lip was too high), and it needed a complete suspension re-spring and revalve that I wasn't willing to pay for. It also had electrical/starting issues, and got only 30-32 MPG.

I think you're the first person I've heard complain about the stock RSVR suspension. What was the problem? Was it an abused bike, or are you really fast?

I've thought my springs were to stiff for me as well, but wasn't so sure I wanted to alter the way the bike handled.

Until I cranked it up getting on the highway, and hit an expansion bump hard on the gas at ~90, At which point I realized just how good the suspension on the bike really was, and knew I just didn't ride it hard enough for the stock springs.....

Mine was not the Factory model, so it didn't have Ohlins, OZ, etc. If I was to buy another it'd be an 06-07 because they got most of the bugs out by then.

That's a completely different model. I frequent the Apriliaforum and still haven't seen the threads of people complaining about the stock suspension on first gen Milles.
